Is cherry MX clear much heavier than brown in actual typing?

I'm in the ergodox round 3 group buy with mx clear switch selected as my choice.
but my experience on mechanical keyboard is mx brown on my Kinesis Advantage, which I type all day long. I simply "jab" my fingers at the keys without bottoming out. The bump of mx brown becomes unnoticeable when typing at speed. Is mx clear much heavier than brown and thereby stressing your fingers? Those transiting from brown to clear can provide some insight. How do you feel with your transition? Or it is simply indifferent?

Edit: After reading the three comments below, I might exclude the switch from Massdrop order and get brown or even red in a separate group buy. I like jabbing away lightly at browns. Can't imagine anything heavier will make me happy.

Stock clears, yes. Clears have kind of a unique spring (less coils) that accentuates the tactile bump (which is a different profile than browns). It does so by ramping up the tension at the bottom of the stroke. I found stock clears to be slightly tiring for my fingers, so I ended up getting 65g springs from OriginativeCo, which much more consistent throughout the whole stroke. They feel just a tiny bit lighter than stock clears, but due to the consistency don't tire my fingers out.

That being said, I have a tendency to bottom out my keys. If you're used to not bottoming out, stock clears probably will work out fine, since the tactile bump is more noticeable.

I used browns almost exclusively until getting a Leopold with clears.  I bottom out 100% on browns if I'm paying attention.  There's the chance I don't bottom normally, but I wouldn't notice it.

With the clears I only bottomed the Enter and space bar, and it tired me out quickly.  I type all day for work and could not keep the clears.

Stock clears are bad switches to use. Tiring. I have had complaints that it feels a tad mushy.
The modded ones however, are heavenly.

i dont have any interest in rocking stock clears on anything. they are too stiff. but i am at heart a blues man so this isnt too surprising.

however throwing some 62g or 65g springs on them is the jam yo.  way better than browns. **** you can even improve browns by throwing the springs in them rather than in clears. i think the switch tactle point is the same in browns and clears but i would have to open them up to verify.

i am sure someone here can verify this from memory.

Substitute lighter springs into Clears and they'll be much easier to type on.  Still, Browns don't have such a pronounced bump.  But with ~62g springs (maybe 55g), Clears are quite light as well.

I didn't care for Clears either. The higher force masks the tactile bump too much and makes it almost unnoticeable. It just doesn't feel 'right' for whatever reason.

The switch that is much better than Clear is MX White. That's a fantastic switch. Soft click, tactile bump, and heavier spring. Too bad fullsize keyboards with that switch are very rare.

I upgraded from a QFR with browns to a Ducky Shine 2 with clears at work because I felt like the tactile bump on the browns were too weak. While I definitely appreciated the stronger bump on the clears, the springs were very stiff. I typically bottom out with every keypress, so by the end of the day my hands would ache. I could easily see how ergo-clears would be sublime, however I didn't want to mess with desoldering LEDs and switches.

Ended up returning the Ducky, currently waiting for the 660C to come back in stock.

I love stock Clears. Those and Panda Clears are amazing. Ergo-Clears are overrated imo. They feel almost like Browns and I hate Browns.

Edit: I hate anything lighter than Blues. You kids rocking 45g and 55g ergo-clears are crazy

Stock clears are about the best Cherry switch ever devised. At least, of the ones I've tried. They aren't tiring if you can float gracefully around the actuation point. I use my board with clears for programming at work, so they do get some extensive use.

Stock clears are much heavier than browns but the bump is a lot more noticeable as well. If you aren't bottoming out every keypress you shouldn't feel much stress in your fingers

I am a constant Brown user (when not on my Model M).  I bought -- and hated -- a Leo TKL with Clears.  I have not tried modding them, but stock to stcok, yes absolutely Clear is heavier than Brown.

Clears are awesome. I type much faster and more accurately on them than on browns. The tactile bump on browns are almost unnoticable, like reds with crap in them. It is difficult to not bottom out on browns.
The only problem with clears is that they are a little bit frictiony.

Thank you for all your input. With my typing style I enjoy the lightness of the kinesis browns so anything that has more "friction" or "bump" might be undesirable. Hence I decided to go all out with 80 MX reds where I would get from Cherry MX group buy at Deskthority. It ended up costing me 22 USD more than the massdrop group buy. But I think if something worth doing, it's worth over doing!!!!

it is heavier. it is my fav cherry switch. I would not personally put lighter springs. I do not get tired. I do not type so good but I do so 12 hours a day or so. I can see why it is too heavy for many people. I have very strong hands so I prefer it. in fact I could see myself liking 80g if they had them. it is heavier than topre 55g but I kind of like the feel better. it is kind of like a very stiff rubber dome. nothing like blues. I find it ideal. couple it with heavy pbt caps and a flat profile on my board and I am not buying another keyboard for a bit. well, I just bought a topre with spherical keys and I do not like it as much. actually my model m's that are not worn out feel heavier. I mean it depends on you. some like heavy some like lighter. I thought the click in the blues was great but those are too lite for me.

You could try getting a set of mx light greys then, they're essentially heavier clears.

i don't lube the bump part, because I enjoy the bump.. When you lube the bump part you can barely feel the tactility
