unless they have some unforeseeable downside (like they're actually made of cream cheese cunningly disguised as ABS)

As droolworthy as the µTron is, a good bed is seriously nice. I would probably go for a bed, really, but I'm sure other members here will convince you that µTron would be right. And I can't really disagree with them either.

You know, I was going to say get the keyboard and tough it out for another month or two, but I changed my mind as soon as I saw the hamburger bed.  Looks like a fun cure for insomnia.

I agree, that bed looks more convenient.  I don't know how you will deal with that sandwich bed--the top part needs to be moved and stored every night?  Otherwise if you sleep on it, doesn't look very good for your back.  I'd go for a normal good mattress and a cool throw / pillows for fun effects.

from the top bunk.  Unfortunately, they only fit a twin bed.

you could build a bunk bed for pretty cheap! there are lots of loft bed patterns online you could adapt for slides and stuff.

You must be young.

Buy the bed.

You can type on anything and you can sleep on anything, and you may even spend more hours per day on your keyboard that you do on your bed, but you need a really good bed and solid reliable sleep. And go for a hard mattress, find the hardest one you think you could be comfortable with, and then buy at least one level harder.
Citizens United violates the essence of what made America a great country in its political system. Now it’s just an oligarchy, with unlimited political bribery being the essence of getting the nominations for president or to elect the president.
So now we’ve just seen a complete subversion of our political system as a payoff to major contributors, who want and expect and sometimes get favors for themselves after the election’s over.”

New bed. I have a tie for the worse two places I've slept -  on a pile of newspaper in Saudi Arabia in a parking garage during Desert Shield or under a bush wrapped in a space blanket in Iraq during Desert Storm. Given those facts I say buy a bed! Just giving you my opinion.

Dude, seriously, how are you going to get laid in a hamburger bed?  Or a bunk bed with slides?  Think man, think!  You're too young (and too single) to turn celibate.

All the ladies love teh µTron.   µTron gets you laid.  It says so on the box.

Plus where are you going to put your Clacks?  Hamburger bed or µTron?

Again it's a no-brainer.  µTron FTW.

Would a CF key even fit on the µTron? It uses different sized stems than normal Topre plungers.

Consider the µTron only if you have girlish hands. The caps are smaller than normal. Clacks won't fit the µTron either because of size and different key stem.

Get a proper large, comfortable bed. Chicks prefer larger beds.

first thing i thought when i read that quote... you would have to actively try to not get laid on that bed.

Thanks for talking some sense into me guys.  The path is clear:  get the µTron because the ladies will love it, and steal the hamburger bed from the Hamburger Museum.

The way that the ladies will react to the hamburger bed will determine if I continue to date them.

I bought the mattress.  100% natural latex.

Would be interested to see a review after at least a week or a month of regular use.

I was intrigued by these until several people told me that they are clingy and hot. I am a restless sleeper, and prone to getting overheated, so those are important issues to me.

Yea, that looks about right.

When I told people that I bought a latex bed, they thought it was so I could prevent pregnancies.

I heard the same complaints, but the comfort of latex that I tried at the store, compared with any syntehtic foams or inner springs, and the potential life of the mattress sold me.  The mattress cover contains a layer of wool to help with temperature regulation.

hmm.  I'm looking into a latex mattress now.  I might get one too.  But they're $2K+ for a king size.  I guess it's cheaper than tempur-pedic.  And it's cheaper than my #1 choice, which is a sleep number bed, but they're priced at around $5K, for a king.
