Yes I know there are those joke-cracker boxes of soylent green from the movie, and that vietnamese kid who's making his own..

But I mean.. Why isn't this actively researched...


Am I the only one that doesn't really give a **** about taste...

I would be saddened by this post if it was real.  It totally misses the point of the movie.  I guess maybe something got lost in the pirated bit torrent DL that tp4tissue watched.

First, soylent Green is made from dead people.

Second, there is no other kind of soylent green.

Third, the scam was that the Govt. convinced the people that soylent green was made from a type of sea plankton that was extinct, due to pollution in the oceans.

Fourth, nobody wanted soylent green, it was the only food left on Earth, due to pollution and environmental destruction.

Fifth, tp4tissue already has a 1 piece nutritional replacement, it's his mom's PB&J's that she makes for him every afternoon, while he watches pirated movies on his computer, and types on his non-existent ergodox.

Today the subject was presented with slow roasted duck drizzled with a creamy raspberry sauce and a side of buttery sweet potato gnocchi. Subject 27 then proceeded to push all the food into the center of the plate mashing it into a paste with a Cynthia, the name he has given his smartphone/lover. Subject 27 then placed the contents into a pouch made from old coffee filters and suckled at it for the remainder of the day while attempting conversation with Dox, his keyboard he built from paper plates, and aluminum foil.

Tomorrow we will try introducing a puppy into the environment, but early reports suggest this may anger or confuse the subject.

This Soylent crap is nothing new or innovative, the only reason people care is because of the name they chose to market it as. It's just oat powder (maltodextrin, i.e. sugar prior to that), rice protein (low BV and crap amino acid profile), olive oil (incomplete fatty acid profile alone), and a multivitamin (worthless).

Products more or less the same as this have existed for decades, labelled as weight gainers, meal replacements, diet shakes, etc. This is nothing to be remotely excited about.
