Coke Spillage, pls help

So, uh
I spilled coke on my keyboard and the "w" "2" "3" and "4" keys are all mushy and sticky, can I fix this or will I have to buy another board?

Do the keys still reigster?

Unplug the keyboard , flip the keyboard around and let it dry out for 2-3 days

The only way to be sure is to replace those switches (assuming some sort of Cherry MX switch).

You can try rinsing with diluted water and/or rubbing alcohol and allowing to completely dry before plugging it in again, but if they are MX blues you might lose the click.

They are browns so I can probably just get them replaced since there are only five that are damaged

If anyone knows where I can buy could you please link it.

Your best bet for cheap switches is to provide 50 more valuable contributive posts to the community, and then start a WTB thread in classifieds.

Otherwise for such a small quantity you will be playing top money.

Plus you will need to be handy with a soldering iron to swap them.

But switch swappage is definitely the only way to be 100% sure that they will not seize up again in the future.

If you're sure it's only   5x keys..

It MAY be cheaper and much faster to fix this yourself.

Desolder the keys..  open up the keys, drop all parts into a glass of alcohol... lightly stir or shake...

Wait for them to dry... Rub off residue on the slider and leaf spring carefully.

then resolder them back.

But yea.. you can buy 5 switches from WASDkeyboards

Not trying to make fun about this matter, but is it me or are more and more people starting to spill something on their beloved keyboard? I see an upward tendency ^^

It goes in phases.

A year or so ago there was a rush of people who spilled something in their keyboard.

Then it all went quiet.

Now people have started spilling again.
