But by the time I was in high school, the skin heads had all kind of died out.

Lol sorry some of us are from the ghetto and our primary school's idea of a good math foundation is learn pre-algebra / algebra 1 and try to not fight anyone / get pregnant and you'll get a diploma.

So I pretty much have the educational foundation of a door knob.

I'm not trying to diminish what you're studying by calling it monkey math..  my point is to illustrate that it's predominantly memorization of the principle operations and concepts..  and all of that primary foundation is illustrated best in the textbook..  the professor can't possibly do a better job at reading the book to you..

You just gotta grind that yourself..
