I am relatively new to geekhack and was going to buy someone else's order for this group buy and had heard from everyone that "Ivan allllwaaays follows through on his group buys" and "don't worry, it's Ivan".
Anyway, long story short I ended up buying the keycaps for cheaper off of geekkeys and am using them right now... but Ivan's group buy is still in the production stage!
I don't really know much about this Ivan guy but it seems ridiculous that he can't leave a short message saying where the group buy is up to seeing as though it was supposed to finish like half way through last year.
I feel really bad for the people who have given him money and have almost been waiting a year for their keycaps. Some people are not concerned about the money but just want an update so they know whether to move on or not.
The thing is, Ivan has been online and even changed his profile picture but fails to leave any kind of an update...

So yeah... that's what's bothering me.

Researching stocks when I don't have enough information, can't tell what the hell happened to them, and getting to figure out if they're valid, defunct, or escheated to the state.  Anyone know a good resource for finding out historical stuck prices, splits, acquisitions, and so on if the company is defunct or no longer publicly traded?  I feel like my days are being stolen from me trying to figure this **** out.

How far back do you need to go?  For tax purposes with uncovered stocks, I usually use Yahoo Finance, Nasdaq.com, Marketwatch.com, and BigCharts.com to find the data I need.  You often can't find everything you're looking for one just one of them, so below are a couple links that I use somewhat often.  I can't guarantee you'll be able to find everything you're looking for but I've been able to track down all but one stock over the last five years using a mix of the ones listed above, below, and random online searches.

Sometimes if you just know the name of the actual company you can plug it into http://www.investopedia.com/ and historical information will be listed along with the ticker or CUSIP, even ones that aren't used anymore if you're lucky.
