I got der' monoprice one.. I only have 1 long one, so not a representative sample size..  but it seems pretty good..

I don't drop it or be rough with it like the kids though..

The cable I have from monoprice is fine. Moving the phone around does not disconnect it and it still works a few weeks later, seems fine

I also have the Monoprice ones (purchased 1.5 years ago, not sure if it has changed).  I have two.  No issues with either.

I did have an issue like what you describe though, and it was from having too much lint and junk built up in the jack.  The plug was not making a good connection.  After cleaning it out with a tooth pick it solved the issue entirely.  Maybe give that a shot if you haven't already.

That's the thing, my apple cables fit perfect! I've never had an issue with those. And I regularly clean my phone since work creates a ton of dust. So I figured it was the cable and not the port. I clean the port with a toothpick from time to time. So I'm gonna give Monoprice a shot now.

Had a miserable weekend. Got a stomach infection from bad home brew on Saturday night, which caused dehydration and skewed eating schedule. Which set off a chain of 7 migraines over a 36 hour period. The worst it's ever been in my life.

I was able to switch the screw out of that piece with a better screw #fixed. I'll have to upgrade one day
