Tried some more practice soldering today on some unused electronic components I had lying around. What a mess.

I think I give up at learning to solder. I've read all of the tips, practiced, attempted projects (only to fail miserably), practiced some more-- and I don't think it's going to happen. :-(

That sucks you had a bad time. I didn't even have anything to practice on when I attempted to solder my first pcb. It went fine, after watching a million videos about what to do, but it's certainly something I don't want to mess with again XD

how do you even solder with a cat around?  fur everywhere, cat sitting on pcb, etc.

I lock the cats out of the room lol.

ITS THE ONLY WAY, BUT THEN I FEEL BAD BECAUSE THEY ARE MY FURBABIES

haha my cat cannot deal with closed doors in the house.  there may be unfathomable interesting and mysterious things behind a closed door.  plus she has to be around us all the time.

One of my cats just cries and cries and body flops against the door until I open it. OuO I always open it eventually.

I also recently got another cat...which now makes our 4th cat (cat lady levels achieved). Someone just dropped off this siamese mixed cat one day, and he was really sweet/nice/talkative. I have to take in strays like that, cuz it breaks the feeble heart.

Now thinking about living there is bothering me.

That's good to hear, because the smell is ****ing terrible.  My son was with me the last time I was there and he remembers her as the 'Cat Pee Lady' from the one visit.

I was only 6 years old when the '89 earthquake hit and it was just chaos. The town where my grandparents lived (1.5 hours south of San Francisco) where a large majority of the buildings and homes were built in the 30's were just rubble.
