So what's your opinion on sticky keys? A godsend? Useful? Hindering? Outright stupid?

Are you referring to the Windows accessibility option, or keyboards with sugary liquid spilled on them?
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

The windows option. But I should try keyboards with actual sticky keys...

Haven't used it, although I have triggered it accidentally a few times.

I tend to idly tap the same key several times while thinking sometimes, so I would have to say for me it is a minor irritation.  Very minor.

^^ This. Usually I hit shift 5 times in a row to get it to pop up, then go into settings and turn off all the accessibility stuff. Job done.
Buying more keycaps,
it really hacks my wallet,
but I must have them.

I don't think I've ever really used StickyKeys before. I guess it would come in handy when typing with one finger though.

This.  Although the first time it happens on a new computer, I go into accessibility settings and disable it.

As a gamer it is ultra annoying if I forget to disable it on fresh install as it always seem to activate at a most inopportune time. I never understood why the **** it's on by default. For those that want to use it they should have to go and enable it on purpose.

That's the thing - those that need it would probably have difficulty enabling it in the first place.

I know a guy with one hand who swears by it understably.
unless they have some unforeseeable downside (like they're actually made of cream cheese cunningly disguised as ABS)

He's probably referring to his company's one-handed keyboard. Not ALPs-based, unfortunately, but there.

I turned off all sticky key.. filter key features... the keyboard seems much more responsive because I'm not waiting so long for key repeat.
