Cats!

Buy lots and lots of cats!

Just get a boy and a girl eventually you will have more cats than you ever wanted....

Make sure they aren't siblings tho. Don't want a house full of inbred cats... you're walls would continuously walked into headfirst by an endless wave of felines.

In 2014 I resolve to once again only have ONE keyboard per PC and only 2 extra keycap sets per keyboard.

I have something like 10 working PCs at home, and only 8 working modern mechanical keyboards - need two moar.

It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

I currently have 6 working PC 1984-2013, though one has an inbuilt (and TERRIBLE! Fujitsu leaf spring ) keyboard... but 14 MX keyboards plus a few more in various states of assembly
I am already taking steps towards this goal, though it will be far to easy to slip back into this place if I let myself. I've gotten so good at locating cool G80 and other MX vintage boards for good prices.

Hmmmm.
1. Not to obsess over things.
2. Try not to be too open minded and judge everyone. I judge A LOT.
3. Don't spend money on keyboards this year. That is until ducky get their hands on cherry rgb. Or atleast try no to buy a new board. gh makes it hard for me.

The only thing that has really stopped me from buying more keyboards is the Ergodox..

And honestly it has only stopped me from buying "OTHER" keyboards..

I would still buy more Egdxus if I had more stations for them..

I made a resolution to have no more New Years resolutions. The questions has been, how do I have a resolution not to have a resolution when I cannot have a resolution to not have a resolution if I have a resolution not to have a resolution.

So in reality, basically I've given up.

I don't see the conflict.

You Resolve not to have any future resolutions. that applies to creation aspect only, and not to the follow through of existing contracts or even follow through of future contracts even if they were never created..

If you need the beginning of a new year to justify setting goals, then a good New Years resolution would be to depend less on justification when setting goals.

A lot of people cannot coordinate their intentions to actually start something without a (significant) event to trigger it.

The start of a new year is as good a time as any.

What we could do is start a thread where those who make a sensible resolution at the beginning of the year record it, and then 12 months later we can revisit it to see who has stuck with it.

I also think a 2014 Predictions thread would be cool. People say what they predict will happen this year. Then in 2015 we go through them and see if anyone was right. Eg. Super Bowl finalist, government changes, celebrity deaths etc.

For fun, or to lose weight.  I go vegan periodically for between a week to a month, and always lose weight and feel great.  Then I eat nothing but meat with no grains, veggies, or any other side dish, for two or three days.  It just REALLY sucks when it comes time to drop a deuce after eating nothing but meat.  I also drink two or three energy drinks everyday, but every now and then I take a month off from caffeine.  Other than the first couple days where I get extreme headaches or sometimes migraines(light and sound sensitivity, puking, etc), I feel great!

My resolution is to stop being angry all of the time, so I should probably stop doing random things to mess with my body, or maybe start smoking herb again.

Having an always changing life is good.  It prepares you to deal with anything.  People who never change their routine sometimes get complacent, and end up being victims of change rather than the initiators of change.

I think my previous post still stands in answered but... Yeah being unable to keep and sustain a healthy diet is only a bad thing... Going on some veggie dive in order to loose weight and then jumping back into eating meat can't be healthy...

I didn't do it to lose weight, I don't have a lot of fat on me, it was just a side effect that I noticed.  I mentioned the weight loss because if that is your resolution, a vegan or vegetarian diet will get you there, provided you don't eat "vegan" food like french fries and doughnuts.  But yes, eating a ton of meat after a relatively long break messes up your body, which is why I mentioned ****ting bricks.  Veggies are about the healthiest thing you can eat, provided you get enough calories.  You actually have to over eat vegetables to meet your caloric goals for the day, so being hungry isn't an issue.

So in reality, basically I've given up.

palEo. palio is a different thing.
(...)Whereas back then I wrote about the tyranny of the majority, today I'd combine that with the tyranny of the minorities. These days, you have to be careful of both. They both want to control you. The first group, by making you do the same thing over and over again. The second group is indicated by the letters I get from the Vassar girls who want me to put more women's lib in The Martian Chronicles, or from blacks who want more black people in Dandelion Wine.
I say to both bunches, Whether you're a majority or minority, bug off! To hell with anybody who wants to tell me what to write. Their society breaks down into subsections of minorities who then, in effect, burn books by banning them. All this political correctness that's rampant on campuses is b.s.
