Just bought a PS3 - any under the radar titles you wanna recommend?

Man, well my budget has been totally blown for now but I have more than enough of a repectable starter collection. Thanks so much for all the suggestions. In case you're curious, here's what I picked up:

► The Last of Us and Batman: Arkham Origins (came with the system in ****ty paper sleever, grrr)
► Afrika
► Journey Collector's edition
► Uncharted: Greatest Hits Collection
► Silent Hill: HD Collection
► ICO and Shadow of the Colloses HD Collection
► Katamari Forever (this game's amazing! really all I've been playing so far)
► Valkyria Chronicles
► 3D Dot Game Heroes
► Dragon's Crown
► Aqua Pazza ( <3 Atlus, found a first print limited edition for $19.99 brand new)

and on preorder:
► Dark Souls II: Collector's Edition
► BlazBlue: Chrono Phantasma Limited Edition

So essentially 17 whole games I wanna play for what it would've cost me to get a PS4 with two games I have no interest in playing. I think the choice was clear

LOL... I played the game.. it's aight.... if they'd give you a gun, and let you be a poucher, i think that'd be a h00t..

if you think about it... they give you the choices to be good guy and bad guy in games now.. why not let you be a 3rd world poucher...

Then you have to try to sell your goods to gangsters. and then you get into a squabble, now you're hunted by assassins..

every game is instantly enhanced  + gun...

and then the wife leaves him... leaving him bitter against the world... he loses himself in his work... no longer held back by the notion to protect his family, he begins to deal with more and more dangerous people....

I'm trying to get into console gaming a bit.  I have a PS3 I mostly use for Amazon streaming.  Can someone recommend some good RPGs/action games? 

I'm thinking Demon Souls and Metal Gear Legacy Collection to start with.

Action:
Vanquish (the best third person shooter ever made, hands down)
Metal Gear Rising Revengeance (some rough edges, but totally nails the feeling of SLICING everything)

I was mulling over the PS3 250GB black Friday bundle for a few weeks(comes with Last of Us and Arkham Origins,) and these 2 bottles of champagne just put me over the edge. The only games I've played extensivly on the system have been MGS4 and the ICO/Shadow HD remake. Also picked up Tales of Vesperia, Afrika, Journey, and this Uncharted collection that comes with another controller. Will get GT5 and Ni No Kuni soon, but can anyone recommend any good RPGs or good story centric games I may have missed? I was looking at the Persona and Disgea series too, but I dunno how good they are.

(The Dark Souls II collector's edition was the main reason I just bought it)

I LOVE disgea, If you like deep, long games where you can customize to your hearts desire try any game from the disgea series

It's made by the same folks that did La Pucelle on the PS2, which was amazing, and Disgaea3 is only $17 on Amazon so why not

I bought my PS3 to play the Ratchet and Clank Future series. It's on par with the original PS2 games, and are definitely worth playing. The newest 3 games on the other hand are garbage and not worth buying.
