----------------------------------

ORDER FORM!

Highlights

  • Unique set inspired by the colors of the Skull Squadron Veritech Fighter from the anime TV series Macross (aka: Robotech)
  • DSA Family (spherical top)
  • ABS Double-shot - All legends are centered and uppercase
  • Row-less profile covers less common keyboard layouts (colemak, qwertz, azerty, ...)
  • 8 custom designed keys
  • Designed in Italy, made in USA

Important!

This is one of the first Group Buys managed directly by a new great tool developed by Signature Plastic. This means that your order will be handled, billed and shipped by a real company not some unknown forum member. This also means that we are cutting away the man-in-the-middle, the keycaps are sold directly by the manufacturer, we don't have to pay "shipping-to-me-shipping-to-you-fees" and we don't have to worry about locked paypal accounts.

I believe this is a great opportunity for all of us and I'm honored to be the organizer of one of the first sets in this new environment.

The Skull Squadron set

The MOQ for this set is 50!

Group Buy ends on March 9 at 11:59pm.

The set is in DSA family (short spherical top), all keys are on the same profile/angle; there are no rows (unlike the DCS family) and all keys can be mixed up to create less common layouts (colemak, azerty, qwertz, …).

Please note that DSA has no ISO return, the one in the ISO kit is a standard DCS return that works pretty well with DSA keys.

Custom keys

The set includes 8 custom designed keys:
- Win/Super is replaced by the Macross logo
- Menu key has the Skull Squadron insignia
- ESC key reads EJECT
- Print Screen, Scroll Lock, Pause become respectively FTR, GRWLK, BTROID MODE
- Caps Lock reads: U.N.SPACY 001/VF-1S
- The numpad kit includes the Zentradi logo

But I'm also providing a set with the standard boring legends.

The base set

Price $63 at 50 tier
See website for full pricelist.

Additional Mods

This does not include any spacebar, if you have 1.5u keyboard remember to grab the 7u spacebar.

Price $24 at 50 tier
See website for full pricelist.

60% Black Stripe

The “60% Stripe” kit is specifically crafted for 60% keyboards. Without the function row you’d lose the BLACK/YELLOW/WHITE color combo, so you can grab this kit to get the Macross look’n’feel back!

Price $12 at 50 tier
See website for full pricelist.

Numpad

Price $19 at 25 tier
See website for full pricelist.

ISO kit

Price $9 at 25 tier
See website for full pricelist.

Boring Joe's kit

Price $9 at 25 tier
See website for full pricelist.

Spacebars

Rembember to grab additional spacebars! The mods kit does not include the 7u spacebar and you certainly want to grab at least one additional 6.25u. A 6u spacebar is also available.

7u Spacebar, 6.25u Spacebar, 6u Spacebar

-----------------------------------

Please note that the service is still breaking-in, many new features will be added in the future, if you notice any bug don't hesitate to contact Signature Plastic.

Apparently if you put your address information into the account it changes the shipping charge.  I'm in the US, and when I put my address in, it went from $11 to $18...

They are fixing the check out in this moment. Sorry guys a few hiccups are understood in a new system.

on pimpmykeyboard there's a forum where you can post any problem you slip in. I encourage you posting bugs over there since SP is not following this thread on a daily basis.

Yeah in the shipping address department it only allows International shipping to the UK, Canada and US.  I suspect the rest of the world has stopped existing......  I always knew Convict Town was an imagination  ::) .

Im wondering just how many we can get to join this because i don't know about you guys but i got 203$ in my basket, hoping that at least drops $50-70, But this set so great, and even though there is not a ergodox kit, WA and RA pops up a lot on their blanks inventory. This set is so awesome, Robotech/Macross was big in my childhood.

That's an awesome set.
Is there any ways to order blanks ? One great thing about DSA is that every key has the same profile (so even us French/German/etc can enjoy it providing there's an ISO kit like in this GB), but unfortunately the various symbols never correspond to eu layouts ('cept maybe for the UK I guess).
I'd love to buy one if I could get blanks...but I guess I should have said this on the IC.  :-[
(btw, wasn't it possible to buy individual DSA keys on SignaturePlastics a while back ?)

No blanks in the set, but the colors we use are very common. I bet they have some spare blanks around.

Just curious:

Why are there no legends on the 2 ISO alpha keys? I mean I know there are like 100 different ISO versions, but in my opinion 2 blank keys on a set that has legends on every other key looks off.

Most people don't look at their board anyway while typing, so 2 generic legends would be fine. It just shouldn't look empty if you glance at your board.

Something like "<>" and "#" - basically some random symbols :D

But you are right, I actually forgot that DSA enables me to put any key there.

Since I'm really interested in this GB, I took the liberty of making an ISO mockup of what the keyset will look like (hope that's okay).

Checkout still seems to be broken.  I'm sure that the timeout of the 6.25 spacebar is an oversight and will be fixed.

lovely done! thanks

The spacebar will be back soon, they are frenetically working on the software. Don't worry there's plenty of time to catch it :)

I'm new to this GB business so I need some advice. Would buying Skull Squadron Base Set and Skull Squadron ISO kit be enough to cover what my ISO Ducky Mini would need?

If your ISO layout is like the one shown in the picture the answer is yes, based set + ISO kit will have all the keys you need. Just be aware that the legends in the base set are for ANSI Eng layouts, so if you have other language set than UK you will not have all the special symbols.

I hope so Matt3o, I'll wait till a few days before the deadline just to see if everything is sorted.  I hate to miss out on this but if SP are slack on sorting their problems with ordering then maybe it's best to go back to the older ways, because they have proved to work.

Yes I'm the old boy that hates change in anything, because getting use to this NEW method is just plain....... strange and unreliable  :-\ .

Wait, do we have to buy the set at the full price, then we get refunded based on how many people order?
Not that I'm able to checkout or anything, I'm just wondering.
If today had been a hippo, then you'd really have to worry about tomorrow.

If it's like any of the other group buys organized like this, then you are basically committing to order a set when the time runs out (they'll take your info when you order it at the time). They will only charge you for the discount price it reaches at the end of the group buy though, so no refunds are necessary.

I'm not sure that this is how SP is doing it though
hello.

When you buy a set then can you change your mind and cancel your order like we are allowed to do in the "old way" GBs?

I believe that you are making a final commitment, your order is cancelled only if the MOQ is not met. But I'll ask SP as soon as they wake up (around 17:00 CET)
