Its pretty hard on your knees and the risk of getting a fracture is pretty high I´m afraid
That's what I was afraid of, looking at the posture and movements it seems to stress the knees a lot. And my knees are my weak point, I started weightlifting to develop the muscles in my legs to support my knees better, with the intention of improving my skiing-technique. Alpine touring already is strenuous for my knees, with the ascend and the powder descend.
But alpine touring is one of the things I would love to become great at. It is more than just a sport, but it is also about learning to know the mountains. Too bad I live in Belgium, so I can't spend the weekends in the mountains, but I live near the sea and some canals, which is nice for open-water swimming.
Maybe I should switch my focus and try to get in the Ötillö-swimrun
