Just started taking Tennis lessons a few weeks back and loving it so far. A late start, but I'm happy to learn something new and play very casually.

My first ever racquet arrived today :)

Football, the yankee kind. Started watching last year and playing this year, can't get enough!
It's a good width!  If it's half-width it's too narrow, and full-width is too wide.

French Alps \m/
oh yeah

(...)Whereas back then I wrote about the tyranny of the majority, today I'd combine that with the tyranny of the minorities. These days, you have to be careful of both. They both want to control you. The first group, by making you do the same thing over and over again. The second group is indicated by the letters I get from the Vassar girls who want me to put more women's lib in The Martian Chronicles, or from blacks who want more black people in Dandelion Wine.
I say to both bunches, Whether you're a majority or minority, bug off! To hell with anybody who wants to tell me what to write. Their society breaks down into subsections of minorities who then, in effect, burn books by banning them. All this political correctness that's rampant on campuses is b.s.

Just love Aussie Rules Football because you can legally go out on the grounds and smash someone's head in without being charged, I love this game above all else  :thumb: .

It's a good way to shake out all the stress and bullsh1t that builds up at work for months.  Mrs likes me better when I return home worn out and smelling like a pig.

It isn´t actually, prob like the 4th most popular teamsport after soccer, icehockey and floorball. The reason i started playing badminton was since my parents did it.

I suck at that sport but love playing it.

My go-to is competitive gymnastics, though it's becoming hard to watch now that FIG is ruining it (harder skills performed poorly score better than easier skills done well, I balk at the artistic aspect going away)

I like watching basketball and soccer. I do wish I had the more premium channels that broadcasted the non-US soccer matches.

I like playing skateboard and beer pong. I think volleyball is fun, but it's hard to find people and a net to play a game.

For watching on TV? American football, though it is hellishly expensive in Germany.

For playing myself ? Badminton, otherwise I am a couch potato (Xbox or PC).

Motocross, mountain biking, golf, triatlon (Ironman).  I was big into Ironman training for about 2 years.  Competed in the Tempe Ironman and injured myself during the swim (pinched nerve in the shoulder resulting in no feeling at all in my right arm).  Finished the swim barely and did 40 miles of the biking before it got too windy to hold onto the bars with just one arm.  Did the Vineman half Iron after that and finished with a time a lot better than my goal.  Quickly jumped ship on that when I got a new motocross bike and started hitting the track 1-2 times/week.

Growing up , I liked almost every sport that I got an opportunity to play. Because I am Dutch however, I spent most of my time playing football.

Nowadays, cycling is what I do. I put in about 150km a week when the weather is good, and in the offseason I do anything between 50-100km a week on my roadbike. (excluding the few 10km a day for my commute).

Crosscountry skiing or alpine?

Alpine,I first tried it two years ago. I love the feeling of freedom and being so close to nature. I still need to work on my off-piste skiing techniques (deep powder is different, even if you consider yourself a good on-piste skier). I was wondering if Telemark-skiing would be fun to do, but I don' know how difficult it is to learn and how hard it is for your body.

Its pretty hard on your knees and the risk of getting a fracture is pretty high I´m afraid

That's what I was afraid of, looking at the posture and movements it seems to stress the knees a lot. And my knees are my weak point, I started weightlifting to develop the muscles in my legs to support my knees better, with the intention of improving my skiing-technique. Alpine touring already is strenuous for my knees, with the ascend and the powder descend.
But alpine touring is one of the things I would love to become great at. It is more than just a sport, but it is also about learning to know the mountains. Too bad I live in Belgium, so I can't spend the weekends in the mountains, but I live near the sea and some canals, which is nice for open-water swimming.
Maybe I should switch my focus and try to get in the Ötillö-swimrun
