You laugh, that **** is on EVERY job application pretty much going in UK... ****ing hate it
It's ****ING ILLEGAL in The Netherlands if it is not relevant for that particular job. Same with asking about pregnancy or your particular religion among other things.
Alright bro calm down, I mostly tell employers that I'm a black, male lesbian from eastern Europe. Don't actually think anyone cares and it only exists becasue every employer has to be able to prove they are not a racist...
Well that's the thing. They aren't even allowed to ask those questions.
Your not allowed to take employers to court on the grounds that they didn't hire you becasue of your race/orientation etc?
Sure we can. That's why it is essentially suicide for a company to even ask these questions. Simply asking them makes it all the more likely that there is hidden discrimination at work.
It's private information that your employer has no need to know.
There have been some embarrassing cases where an employer accidentally sent the applicant an e-mail meant for a colleague saying "first, the guy is black, second he doesn't have enough experience"
Once the applicant replied they came with a weak excuse that was the equivalent of "It's not racist because I have black colleagues"
