Have you ever not sleeped
« on: Wed, 08 April 2015, 17:05:36 »
I just got off work and am just sitting here after 16 hours straight on from 2 hours of sleep the night before..

It's a profound feeling.. IDK what's going on..  I can't focus,  or even see straight.  I can't even keep my neck fully upright,  it kinda droops to either side..

I can't tell if my sentences are righto...

I can usually make it past the 24 hour mark with no issues. As soon as I pass 30 hours, I start to hallucinate. Used to be able to hit the 36 hour mark no problem in high school...I may have had a gaming problem.

Have you ever not made a pointless topic

Blasphemy!

Jodorowski claimed that he did not sleep for a week before beginning filming "The Holy Mountain"

That, I can believe.

But, seriously, a writer friend of my mother's, John Bowers, wrote a fascinating book called "The Land of Nyx"
"However, even though I was born in the Mesozoic, I do know what anyone who wants to reach out to young people should say: Billionaires took your money. They took your chance to buy a home. They took your chance at a good education. They stole your opportunities. Billionaires took the things you want in life. If you really want those things, you have to take them back.
That's the message. That's the whole message. Say that every day, not just to reach America's frustrated young white men, but people of every age, race, and gender.
Late-stage capitalism is a wealth-concentration engine, focused on vacuuming up every dollar and putting it in as few hands as possible. Republicans are helping that vacuum suck.
How does a tiny fraction of the population get away with this? They do it by dividing the other 99% of Americans against themselves."

I have pulled all nighters a bunch before.
You kind of have this strange feeling of just being crap.
Although for me I am fairly fine. I get a little bit shaky but once I get going and active I act fairly normal, even past the 30 hour mark.

I've gone 40 hours, the last part of which was spent at Six Flags.  Most tired roller coaster rides of my life.   ^-^

And then there was college, which involved many all-nighters.  -_-  The worst was spending 30+ hours in a row finishing a lab report, turning it in, and then attending the 5 hour lab for the next experiment.  Falling asleep on the heat exchangers...   :blank:   (and that was a regular thing, not just once :( )

When I was in the service, the first 2 years, I only slept about every other day.

I don't remember what the longest I have gone was.

I was in the Navy, and on deployments it wasn't abnormal to be awake for 36+ hrs.  Granted, most of that was self inflicted with Halo 3/DOTA sessions, but it still happened.

It's a good width!  If it's half-width it's too narrow, and full-width is too wide.

I think my record is 38 hours. Pulled two consecutive all nighters in third year (gotta love UWaterloo). Submitted assignments, left this plane of existence. Hunger brought me back, luckily.

This was before keyboards... I had nothing else to live for.

Sentences are to the usual standard.
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

I went 72+ hours (it was probably around 76) one finals week. (no caffeine) I felt like my soul was leaving my body. It was strange, I literally hurt everywhere. I can do 48+ hours on a regular basis with no caffeine or other stimulants, but 76 was my longest straight stretch. A few weeks ago I went 7 days with a sleep total of 14 hours. There is a rare gene that allows some people to live off of less sleep than others, and I'm pretty sure I have that gene. I've seriously considered switching my Circadian sleep rhythm to an Everyman sleep cycle.

My dad napped twice, 3 hours each, over a one week period as he finished his thesis. I don't have that gene. Son of a gun also took the beard gene with him. Can't grow one to save my life :(

Haha. There were plenty of days without sleep because equipment was down and needed repaired. I try to remember the fun times though.

Lack of sleep varies for me. Generally being tired during the day messes with me. During the night I'm alive.

I usually don't sleep when traveling on a plane. Which, in case of flying to the other side of the world, means 48 hours without sleep. The hallucinating and constant adrenaline high are awesome though.

Two years ago I went clubbing in Berlin for a week and slept a total of 16 hours Sunday to Sunday. (No drugs, no coffee) Last year I went back again together with a friend and he was surprised at the amount of sleep I needed.

In fact, seeing as how coffee, certain drugs and other stimulants often work by releasing all of your bodies' reserves in one go it might be better to go without if you have to stay awake. I used to have these severe crashes after drinking coffee for example.

The trick is to keep going. Have a dull moment and you will fall asleep.

I find clubbing really hard at the moment... most of the clubs I used to love have been destroyed/changed and the rest of the clubs I've found are full of children...

atm the only club I enjoy going too is Reflex... and me and my gf are a good 20years younger than everyone else in there!

Didn't start clubbing until I was 25. Still don't do it often but a lifetime of dance lessons have kept me flexible. :P

Yeah. Most clubs cater to a much younger crowd and where I live right now, they're nothing special or just boring.
There are some really good clubs though in larger cities. Berlin for example has clubs that won't let you in if you are below 24. And the more extreme ones have a great mix of 20-somethings, older ravers and 60 (!) year old hippies that love techno. XD
It's all about having fun so the atmosphere is really nice and laid back.

Though to be honest, Brits in clubs... they are not fun people. Either you run into 14 year old girls that are wasted and want to **** (no thanks) or guys that are so hopped up on booze and peer pressure that they feel like they need to fight everyone.

I think that this is true. But if you drink coffee daily, you become addicted and need to wean yourself off.

Just "not drinking coffee" for one day will create even bigger problems, including headache and fatigue.

In fact, seeing as how coffee, certain drugs and other stimulants often work by releasing all of your bodies' reserves in one go it might be better to go without if you have to stay awake.

I think that this is true. But if you drink coffee daily, you become addicted and need to wean yourself off.

Just "not drinking coffee" for one day will create even bigger problems, including headache and fatigue.

After I quit hearthstone...  I had a mild headache around 2 hours everyday after waking up..

And even through today.. I woke up and just wanted to install it...

LOL clubbing..  Tp4 too old for that...  achka... my back...  ohwwwoah....  squiggle squiggle..

Show Image

Didn't start clubbing until I was 25. Still don't do it often but a lifetime of dance lessons have kept me flexible. :P

I find clubbing really hard at the moment... most of the clubs I used to love have been destroyed/changed and the rest of the clubs I've found are full of children...

atm the only club I enjoy going too is Reflex... and me and my gf are a good 20years younger than everyone else in there!

//  question..   what about 18yr old girls that are wasted and DTF..

hahahahahhaa

When I visited LAN Parties on more regular basis I'd do the usual 36 hours without sleep. There'd be a period somewhere between 4 and 6 in the morning where I'd be totally knackered, as soon as that was over I was fine.

The moment I got home I was usually wrecked and would fall asleep the moment I would sit/lay down.

Yeah I would love to travel to Germany and experience techno there.

Though the clubs I would go too where literally as underground as I could manage, so the 14yr old girls and chavs wern't such an issue... the biggest issue was guys who spend all day at the gym to look hench as **** only to then stand around on the dance floor bulling everyone they see and harassing women...
