I'm pretty sure most grocery stores have ready to eat chickens for $5.99. Where you been living, bro?

To me the best thing at CostCo is this:

I think it's $5.99 for 4 pounds of Organic Broccolli florets.  This is by far the best tasting Broccoli I've ever had.

I only wish they would offer the same option for Cauliflower.

Doesn't compare to brussel sprouts.  They are tiny, delicious cabbages.

For one thing, as my grocery manager confided to me, stores use the oldest chickens (ie closest to expiration date) so the freshest ones are always at the front of the meat counter.

But don't worry, cooking kills germs, otherwise we would have all died from food poisoning long ago.

ps - Brussels sprouts are great. sear them in oil first, them add water to steam until tender

I'm trying to cut my fat intake and the only way I can stomach brussel sprouts is roasted in the oven and soaked in butter/oil and then rolled in salt.

Sure they can be made delicious; but nutritionally speaking the broccoli is a better option in my case.  I quite like them just plain steamed. :)

some items are sold at very low price points as a tactic to get you in the door.

I would imagine they don't make much on a 6 dollar roast chicken. However if it gets people in the door it probably is well worth it for them to do it.

I'm ashamed to admit, I've put down at least 50 of their pulled pork burgers,  YES, I know full well it's a greasy slop...  It sort of has that iconic fast food feel..

Really good barbeque is about as good as it gets.

Bad barbeque is just plain disgusting.

The family and I did the 'Merican thing today and watched an all day BBQ cookoff on one of the cable stations.

I'm convinced that nobody on that program likes eating meat.

They basically injected / spiced / rubbed / smoked / did everything possible to cover up the taste of the meat.

I dont' think 1.50 for hotdog is that great a deal..

I don't know how much a pack of hotdog costs, but it can't be much,  and that soda costs them next to nothing.

you're not counting the bun, and the fact it's already cooked for you.

and compared to other places, which a hot dog + soda isn't less than 3-4 dollars.. that's a deal.
