many years ago, my coworkers and i wrote bot scripts for the pvp server for asheron's call. we wrote stuff like combat scripts for leveling, healing assistant scripts, and also coordination scripts so ones could command our entire guild of bots to follow you around and kill assigned targets.
i wrote a money making script that leveraged the fact that your character was invulnerable for a few minutes after death. the bots would suicide, head to town to buy mats, make items and sell them for profit, and then head back home before the timer ran out. it was entertaining to watch other players wasting their time by following the bots around, hoping that our bots would turn red so that they could kill them and steal our loots.
so much fun.
