Oh good, you did bring another board. ) Hah.Just the three of you? Bummer about the other two skipping out, but you can still have a fun LAN with even two people - I once pulled an all-nighter playing Morrowind (both separately of course) with my friend because we had issues getting the network set up.
Yeeeeee! You're really going to game on a Model M? O.oAlso, you guys should throw some classics (from my days at least ) into the mix! CSS, Unreal Tournament 2k4, AvP, Quake 2... Ah, man, now I wanna have a LAN with my middle school buddies again.

We used these things called "Ethernet cables" and connected these "Ethernet cables" to a 10mbit hub so we could play Warcraft II and Quake.

Wait, is this not what you'd do today? I'd never trust a wifi connection when I'm ten feet from the other computers anyway.

Pretty kewl to see you fine lad's lugging your comps together to hang out and have a LAN party! Back in the day before the Interweb's, this is how we played games with our amigoz! We used these things called "Ethernet cables" and connected these "Ethernet cables" to a 10mbit hub so we could play Warcraft II and Quake.
I participate in a LAN pretty much once a month. Perhaps I will make a thread next time I do.

Bahh, ethernet! I wasn't joking about Bolo. My parents were middle school teachers. On a friday, we would raid the computer lab and borrow 10-16 Macintosh LC IIIs and take them to my house. We would network them with AppleTalk (ethernet was really expensive, and I think most of it was still coax... token ring was the low cost networking solution for IBM clones) and play Bolo, and OG Marathon for as long as we could until people were falling asleep on their keyboards. LAN was the best. Internet required multiplayer has wrecked one of the coolest aspects of gaming culture.

Or feel free to morph this thread into a running LAN thread for anyone to post to, if XX7 and yourself are satisfied with that (it is not a required moderator-decision, just an idea ).
Can we get them to build the Alps ten feet higher and get Cherry to pay for it?

Looks like it was a fun time though. Speaking of curfews, there was a time I was at a LAN at a buddy's place and his parents were gone. My parents had a strict parents-must-be-home rule, so we got his neighbor to come over and talk to my parents on the phone and tell them he was the parent. The moral of this story is you should have stayed. * HoffmanMyster ceases to be a bad influence
