I need to see it, what show is it?

Behold, she looks so weird.  Maybe a big sister/ aunty character at best.

And it's really jarring because literally every-supporting-actress in the show is better looking than she is.

This is a conspiracy. The internet suspects she's either politically connected or a nepotism hire, or up to misdeeds.

Looks quite normal to me.
Maybe even too normal, AI/CGI level.

Lucy Liu is ugly as ****, but a nice actress.
(...)Whereas back then I wrote about the tyranny of the majority, today I'd combine that with the tyranny of the minorities. These days, you have to be careful of both. They both want to control you. The first group, by making you do the same thing over and over again. The second group is indicated by the letters I get from the Vassar girls who want me to put more women's lib in The Martian Chronicles, or from blacks who want more black people in Dandelion Wine.
I say to both bunches, Whether you're a majority or minority, bug off! To hell with anybody who wants to tell me what to write. Their society breaks down into subsections of minorities who then, in effect, burn books by banning them. All this political correctness that's rampant on campuses is b.s.

The Newsroom, HBO,

It's such a great show, but soooo stressful to watch... Like you can't binge watch it, because just to keep up with the dialog and dense references, and that weird combative air in every scene, it's simply too exhausting.

Finished Hit Monkey.

Honestly, the plot is a bit safe, but the animation is good enough such that one'd not be so critical.

Saw the 115" TCL today.  Honestly, it's big and puts out ALOT of light, but because off axis gamma shift, Tp4 still prefers OLED for computer use.

The TCL is pretty good in most movie scenes, the backlight halo is small enough such that you don't see any serious blooming problem. Could only imagine with double the zones (40,000) on the new Hisense coming out, bloom is pretty much a solved issue.

Going by memory the SONY's new Bravia 9 at a different bestbuy looked more contrasty, but then that might be an overcooking-mode. Not sure if it's because their splicing algorithm is just that much more advanced.

Deadpool Wolverine was actually really great. I may go see it a 2nd time.
I went in there ready to hate it, not a big fan of 4th wall tongue-in-cheek **** wedged into something else, but really this felt like a comedy that happened to have a lot of violent action. Even the 4th wall stuff and the near-infinite references were handled very well. Good writing, which really shows how a great writing team can make even something you dislike enjoyable. I was shocked how many of those jokes landed for me.
This movie is just gonna print money

On the other side of the coin, the new Joker movie looks absolutely awful and cringey. My god, I cannot say no to that enough times.

Just watched episode 2 of Omnivore, the- Tuna.

Some quotes:

""Death affords this fish a Monetary value
Ownership, even legal protection
A yellow tag becomes it's passport.

..the time from catch to kitchen has shrunk dramatically
Today it's all about freshness, maintaining the cold chain, unbroken.
The internal temperature of tuna in transit must never rise above 4 Degrees Celcius.""

Written another way:

Compassion is for humans only, not for animals. They are objects, they can not suffer. A tag on them means we can do with them what we wish. Let's grow the economy at all cost, we can use unlimited energy, exert unlimited carbon to fulfill our lust for exotic meat, the internal temperature of Tuna must be 4 Celcius, forget the 2.5 C of the Paris agreement, that's for someone else in the future to ponder.

This documentary romanticizes food in a predictable human tune.  It is this -something- at the core of our delusion on humanity's ecological role.

Our Vanity has transformed our existence into a factual scourge upon the Earth.

That said,  It's well shot, the cinematography is good, they pander as much as possible to not outright call out the audience, humanity's extreme hypocrisy.  You the audience, you're good people, look at these beautiful images of violence against nature, these fine craftsmen of killing, industrial chain of murder and destruction. This Japanese butcher, he's spent years mastering the craft, what a hero.

Antiquated measurements for max distance to accuracy based on how **** air rifles used to be. Most are rated for 20-25 yards these days.

Realistic range of an arrow is multiple times that of a pellet.

And, archery has been practiced worldwide for millenia with almost mystical training practices. There is a huge amount of human input.

Assuming that riflers have equivalent eqiupment, it is much more a matter of point and shoot.

The current events are probably designed for cost.

Why not ride on motorcycles, off jump, mid-air, 360 no scope?

Just started the Old Man.

It's pretty interesting so far.  Bitrate's a little low, as there seems to be alot of night scenes, but overall. It looks good.

You can see the 10bit does wonders for gradients, back in the day this shot would've looked terrible streamed.

Didn't know that, I like him very much, but sometimes for some reason the way he speaks bothers me a bit, you know, bottom lip movement and weird sounds, like he was talking with water in his mouth. It got worse with age. Going back in time, "the dude" was speaking a bit differently :)

tp watches things after phinix recommends, phinix is glad and happy :)

When phinix was a youngster, in 1992 played Alone in the Dark on 386 PC. Loved that game. This week phinix installed lastest release of Alone in the Dark - and instantly picked female character - our beloved Villanelle :D

Finished Old Man.

It's well rounded. But like the whole time,  the Main fbi director guy, he seems so incredibly reasonable, like the whole show with the driving and make-dead, probably didn't need to exist, if they just took the time in the first episode to have a longer phone conversation.

Watching, dat Furiosa.

Now, small detail but important.  In the event of high radiation rate, significantly more females would be born as opposed to males.   So, if humanity survived at all, the post apocalypse world would mostly be women.

That's a Yo-Tiao,  It's a fried dough stick, unsweetened churro sort of, you dip it in sauces, goes with rice.

Ok, you can understand that Breakdancing strongly represents athleticism,  but the scoring system is ridiculous. It's like trying to rank paintings/ music.  Also the songs they chose sound like crap.

Some of the changes they are making to the Olympics seem quite dumb. They are talking about adding eSports as well, which are NOT A SPORT!
Nothing says peak of athleticism like sitting in a dark room not moving while competing against 9 year olds.
And how they are arbitrarily cracking down on stupid ****, like that Japan gymnast who was dismissed for smoking (a tradition for gymnasts to stay lean) Or that Italian woman literally crying and quitting after getting her face smashed in boxing for only 40 seconds, THEN STILL RECEIVING HER ENTIRE WINNING POT LIKE SHE DID ANYTHING AT ALL TO DESERVE IT. Even when the boxer she was against was born female, and was simply much better than her. ****ing stupid ****.

bah.. this is why DP1.4 was so trash.. only 25.92Gb payload, not remotely close to the peak bandwidth.

How come they allow stuff like this ? Kind of odd.

It's more of an enhancement than something like a ped, and it doesn't affect the lift directly, plus not expensive especially for Olympic teams so it's fine.

cherry blacks - unlubed - filmed and springswapped with tx 55g mediums - alu Plate | pretty happy with this, the blacks were cherry picked so they weren't that scratchy to begin with, but currently breaking them in, may lube them with a dry lube like ro59 or ptfe powder.

lubed with tribosys 3203 | like topre a lot, prefer it lubed but did make less tactile but that might have been a skill issue. probably will get more tactile over time as the domes age.

bad orange alps lol | definitely needs a restoration. planning on wax boiling them and maybe a replacement pcb because the board has only 2 key rollover apparently.

gateron yellows - lubed with 205g0 - 62g tx mediums - pc plate | probably my favourite keyboard already, feels super nice and sounds pretty good, it's got a great layout as well. probably gonna build this with mx browns, I feel like it would suit the board more.

stock with silent reds | Pretty cool looking board, the silent reds are actually good, they are smooth and I don't mind the mushiness (it's not even that mushy as well). the layout is pretty weird, but is useable. will probably mod this in the future. maybe a pcb and plate swap, change the keycaps to something dolch like, and also spring swap the springs in the silent reds.

stock, needs a cleaning and probably replacement foam. Do plan to change layout so it has split bs and rs, as well as ansi enter.

Built with new nixies on pc half plate. Love this board already, probably the best looking board I own, those brass accents are so mint. Really like it as is, but I do want to try an alu build (probably with nixies as well) just to experiment with that.

Time Bandits, the production value is very high, great use of HDR. Acting by the kiddo is superb, the adults on the other hand are kinda hammy.

That said, it's definitely not boring. mm... So far a bit light weight.
