What Is Your Dream Job or Life?

This really resonances with me. While I like my job now and make good money doing it, I don't want to be doing it for the rest of my life. (I only get to see the worst of humanity it feels like)

My dream life would be to have a nice sandwich / brewery restaurant. Preferably on the beach or somewhere with a great scene. I would make the best god damn sandwiches anyone has ever had. On top of that I would like to have my own 2 barrel system in the back so I could put my own beer on tap.

Dogs would be allowed, Live music and I would do beer tastings every Friday. I would just make / serve beer all day and talk to all the people. Veterans get 20% off and I will have treats ready for all the puppy's.

I have slowly started working on this. I know it wont be for awhile that I can achieve this. But hey, gotta start somewhere.

Dream job? None. Jobs suck, no exceptions. A hobby, that pays well... now that's another thing, and I have that. I do stuff in a large sandbox, so to say, on computers. I'm a big kid. What I build, does not matter much. Who I build it for? Myself first. Who pays? I don't care much, either. As long as i have the freedom to tinker, I'm ok. It is just a hobby, after all.

Dream life? Living it. Could be better, but dreams can improve as they progress, and so does life.

I do not have a set goal, I found that does not work for me, and only leads to sadness when not fully achieved, or if making slow progress. So I have milestones, and ideas, which I revisit every once in a while. This way, things are always in motion, and it never gets boring.

You can borrow a small amount of money at the counter.. if you need something like a months wage,  you have to be a regular or else they won't do it.

I thought my dream job was in high end boutique post production for tv commercials/music videos/independent film. The reality of it is that the hours are stupidly long, the pressure and stakes are constantly way too high, you have to be on and network constantly, and the money just isn't great for how much you have to put into it.

I dream now of being like a bush pilot, or something else the requires navigating through the large stretches of wilderness in this country. I've lived in cities my entire life, so I don't know exactly how well I'd fair!

I work in a technical role. I like my job, and would very much like to continue doing it, and get more knowledge and experiance. However, I'm pretty ****ing sick of doing it at the place I'm currently employed.

Work is easy tho...the life part, that is far more complicated.

I had a role once where once a week I had to spend a whole day in the data center by myself. I would just put on headphones and walk around singing to the music. It was so loud in there that no one could hear me even if they did come in, but I was almost always alone. It was garbage work, but that was a good perk.

Love that movie and I always loved that line.

I get why people would hate my dream job but I feel like my life lacked a bit of "normality" and so I crave that and stability/consistency.

I say normality because it's pretty much the perfect example of a work environment, which has rules and structure, which is what my life was lacking in.

I've been the "tech savvy" one in my family since I was in elementary school and have had to deal with people's problems my entire life. Some simple and some complex.

So if I could do that for a job in a hands on environment, then I'd be happy. I like to help, no matter what the task.

I also want a cubical because they're personalized and I find having "cubical buddies" fun :)

I think I will always be in this line of work (Especially since it pays so well)

But I hate working in vaults with no windows and with minimal interaction with people. If there is any discussion, its about work or answering questions you have answered a million times.

And god forbid you are good at your job. You become the Go-To-Guy for everyone's project.

I crave to work with my hands and walk around and talk with people.

Is Jeremy Clarkson a profession? I think that would be my dream job, being Jeremy Clarkson.

But really, I think theoretical physicist would be really neat, but I want to do something that will have an observable impact that I can see, which is why I'm probably going for another one of my dream jobs, biomedical engineer. I want to be able to help some people in any way, and I think that would help me do it (I really want to go into developing 3D printed organs). Electrical engineering sounds pretty rad too, especially using photonic computing, that seems really interesting too.

My favorite job ever was a university photographer.  I would love to go back and work for a university PR department.

I also love teaching at university...aside from bull**** departmental politics.

Right now, my dream job would be doing research design (but **** statistics) or a photographer.

From there the dream job would likely be Game Director/Executive Producer, then CEO of a small-to-medium-sized game development studio.
