Yeah I can't follow that place. Everything wooshes by too fast for me.
I love this place though, so very much. And I've only been here a couple months.

what is this "slack" stuff? How to get to relevant channels? I've noticed the Bro threads drop in activity significantly. I missed all most announcements since 4/20

I've noticed it. Almost the end of the weekend and there's only been 21 votes in the KOTM poll so far...

I remember when there used to be the whole page of Off Topic to go through. Now not even the steady stream of tp threads can fill my desire for content...

Even if his taste in sci-fi fils leaves A LOT to be desired...  >:D

Pssssshhh..

Every movie has something or many things done wrong.. But over time, I've felt that it's really your job as the audience to relinquish judgement and control.  There's a budget on these movies, and they do not have infinite resources to pay the best writer to close every hanging detail..

As long as the film isn't LAZY,  like the Transformer films..    then we should just be cool with what we get..

I want a tp film thread. Or a legit film thread in general...something beyons just "what movies do you  think are awesome (or ****ty)"

I have been lurking recently a lot more, not many topics that are too exciting or that I can comment on, I have been working so much this summer I barely even get on my desktop PC anymore.. I wish I could use Tapatalk for my phone but I just find it so atrocious to use... And when I am around you can hop into a convo on slack easily, also not many DIY projects/GBs that have made me really wanna throw money at my screen (tx-cp come out come out wherever you are).

But ... you just contributed to this discussion
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

I also wonder how the OP and others who say it's slow here take in the forum. I honestly spend 90% of my time here on Spy. So I *only* see the new stuff. It's a bit slower than the months when school is in but it's not totally dead.

Since I seem to have been banned or is unwanted on Slack, I rarely post expect when I have pictures to share. For keyboard related stuff Im sticking to /r/MK

Also lost some of the interest since I rarely enter artisans raffles. 90% of the reason I come to GH is trading, 10% is Off Topic :)

Yeah, but typically the new stuff are from one or two posts unlike before where the rate of participation in one topic is from numerous people, and then multiply by a lot more topics - so Spy changes all the times, rapidly.

I mean why would I want to come back to here when I can talk to people straight away?

Can we just start saying Geekhack is dying like everyone has been for everything else in the history of forever.

Serious note though I much rather use slack tbh I enjoy instant gratification

This.
Many forums ebb and flow during the year, usually going quiet after school lets out as either people are in school, or they have kids now out of school to deal with. Especially here, it will probably pick up again a few weeks after school is back in and grow up to around Christmas with people doing research on Christmas presents or what to buy with Christmas money, then taper off again a bit up until the summer crash again to start the cycle over again. On some forums there is also a slight a surge towards the end of summer as well as people have spending money after summer jobs.

It's not uncommon for some forums to lose 50% or more posts over the summer crash as people run outside and actually do things other than trying to distract themselves from homework. This year is possibly a bit worse due to the Pokemon craze but that will likely taper off here pretty quick.

These kids don't understand how to properly communicate..

They've not yet realized that the Majority of LIVE shoot-the-****,  is just bunk...

It's all about the Letters we write..

Which is far more akin to Forum format than any other..

This suggests that the majority of members are from the northern hemisphere.

It is winter in the southern hemisphere, although it was a nice day today, sunny and 16 degrees C.  Next week is becoming colder and wetter.

Wait a minute, this is not the weather thread!

The good part is, as mentioned, experiencing fairly mild weather atm.

Perhaps you're referring to regional Victoria, as opposed to metro Melbourne?

Regional Victoria has had some pretty wild weather!

Cairns, the weather is perfect. Not to hot to need an air conditioner and not to cold to require pants and a jumper. Just right.

Has not been heavy humidity since maybe March-April
