You need to get your hands on some of these TP;

Can we get them to build the Alps ten feet higher and get Cherry to pay for it?

cup or bowl tastes objectively better than the packets

If that's been ur xperience, then it's possible the noodle has been over hydrated.

Packet Noodles: Thicker noodles, designed for stove-top cooking 5 to 7 minutes maximum

Bowl/Cup Noodles:
Thinner noodles (0.5-0.75 diameter (thickness) of packet variant), designed for Steeping, 3 to 8.5 minutes maximum

With the Packet noodles, you get a bouncier chew-texture due to the increased thickness, (assuming proper preparation)

With the Cup/Bowl noodles, you get the fun factor from the Noodles Ritual.. Boiling water, pour, cover, wait, pray to noodle gods.

Under-Hydrate may cause un-even texture --Within-- the strand of noodle..

It's a preference,  not better or worse.

However, if we think about how a noodle is cooked,  from the outside in..

Assuming that an IDEAL cooked point exists,  then by the time the theoretical center of the noodle converges upon it,  ALL of the noodle surrounding that axis has gone OVER.

My method to counter this phenomenon, is to cook the noodle thoroughly (5-7 minutes), but, Then Rinse the completed noodle in Ice-water to reduce the noodle's gelatinous entropy.   This also requires using osmotic pressure to increase concentration of flavoring inside the noodles, due to the rinsing, which removes the external coating of soup syrup.

There can be no perfection,  but I believe my method to be optimal in preserving the concentration of flavor AND bounce-texture..

Under-hydration would not work with my optimization, because if the noodle center has not crossed the fully cooked point, then we simply can not alter the center in any way, as there is no access to it, if the assumption is that it would stay- under-hydrated.

Hahaha.. I'm just trying to impart some noodle..  It's all preference in the end..

When we look at the noodle.. we come head first against just what constitutes philosophical ideal..

Ideals, as perceptions go, is fluid, and indeterminate.  So, it is an affront to itself..

The perfect noodle should not exist because each noodle is unique, and therefore incomparable to any other noodle..

Most Generally, idealism in practical applications is merely an outline of our intellectual limit..

In that way,  Tp4 supposes, if we had a nano-assembler, to create Highly-Uniform strands of noodles,  then that would meet any criteria our intellect can judge.

But, Life is insatiable, that fervor extends to our comprehension, and thus even achieving HUN (highly-uniform-noodle) would eventually not be enough..

Once man, has tasted this novelty, man would move on to ponder, Does electron spin affect these strands..

Then, another complexity is created.

---Most probably nothing short of black holes can maintain uniform electron spin..

But hey,, take solace in the fact that the Noodle-Dream is a process..

I remember those, although I don't know if they were the same down here as you had.

I used to quite like them.
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

I've softboiled a -roomtemp- egg inside the Bowl-Size containers with just the hot water..

But I don't think it's do-able in the Cup-Size.

fresh ramen is very different..  it's really nothing like instant-ramen..

Instant ramen is good because it's FRIED,  regular ramen usually isn't fried.

I drain off ~75% of the broth after steeping, mix remaining 25% with noodles well enough to keep them hydrated and not sticky-icky.

I was just telling inanis my new ramen recipe.. Ramen w/ Cheetos

Make the ramen normally, with only HALF of the seasoning packet.

After it's cooked..  Rinse with ice water and drain like pasta.

Then sprinkle the rest of the seasoning packet on the ramen,  ALONG with Crushed Cheetos..

See, if you're going to use those kinds of ingredients, I'd argue Cheez-Its over Cheetos.

Alternatively, you could use REAL cheese, which is marginally better for you than processed snack foods.

Although being that it's an instant-ramen recipe, that point is almost moot.

Um, yea u could put crushed anything ,

But cheetos/ cheese puffs is good because they don't break into sharp edges, whereas many other chips do..

since you'll eat this with ramen,  that's why you'd avoid the sharp edge breaking chips.

Cheezits WILL break into sharp edges btw..

Food processed (i.e. ground to a powder) Cheez-Its I feel like would have a better flavor, closer to that of cheese, where as the Cheetos are mostly starches and less imitation cheese flavor.

Alternatively, leave in 10-15% water to soften the edges of said sharp Cheez-It bits.

I can't handle these tp4 complete sentences...

Also I would say that the perfect noodle should not have one consistent texture all the way to the center, though I do love the ice cold rinse idea.

Yea.. the ice-water adds alot of bounce texture..  it also rinses away the food wax which is affixed to most ramen..

Slightly off-topic but I heard that there hasn't been any scientific tests to prove that MSG is actually bad for you...since I heard that I've been binge-eating more instant-type noodles loaded with MSG and I feel wonderful.

Slightly off-topic but I heard that there have been no scientific tests to prove that MSG is actually bad for you...since I heard that I've been binge-eating more instant-type noodles loaded with MSG and I feel wonderful.

Well, I certainly hope you're not actually binge-eating..

but, you are correct,  Glutamate is a natural neurotransmitter in high quantity within the body,

There is NO conclusive evidence that eating MSG is bad..

It is a naturally occuring umami conductor to indicate Protein consumption to the body, telling us to eat more of that food..

Now, of course,  there is SOME harm in that it makes nearly any Food Delicious,   it is something abused by the snakefood/fast-food industry to get people to OVER EAT and Over BUY..

Eh, that's partly true, MSG isn't bad for you, or at least, not that we know. The rest of your description is kinda rubbish :p . The problem is more that stuff with lots of MSG is probably just ****ty food because it needs MSG in there to help it.

Damn TP, now I'm craving  ??? ???

Don't get him started on watermelon ...

Get a packaged one and cook it properly, don't eat plain instant noodles please, it's too much salt and heat.

Can confirm, extremely unpleasant.

You're cruel for even recommending someone try this.
