Chicago Couch Surfing - early December?
« on: Thu, 17 November 2016, 10:52:38 »
I'm probably going to Chicago for a business trip in a couple of weeks! I'll fly in through Midway and spend the days downtown, somewhat near Union Station. I should be in town for two nights.

Are there any GHers reasonably nearby who might want to host an itinerant couch surfer? I'll buy you a $BEVERAGE and bring a Hall effect sample with me! Anyone?

Otherwise I'll just stay in a hotel.

(We can do a Skype call or whatever before the trip to prove that I'm a real person...)

Nope is fake person. Hall effect keyboard is a figment of our imagination. The matrix is real.

I tired to do this when I enter to San Fran and nobody took the bait.  If I lived in or near Chicago, my door would be open.
Wish I had some gif or quote for this space, but I got nothing

I've got SF covered. Tons of friends there! Chicago is a harder nut to crack.

I'll give jacobolus the benefit of the doubt and say that he has a small child to deal with. ;-)

Thanks for the offer regardless, I really do appreciate it. My travels may one day take me to Indiana. Cheers!

If you ever do make it here, the toll is a keyboard or two.

I ended up staying with ImpendingxDoom. What an amazing experience that was!

I posted some photos of the little project we (well, mostly he :sigh: ) worked on while I was around:

If any geekhackers are looking for a "geekbnb" hookup while passing through Austin let me know. I live on five acres about 25 minutes from downtown Austin and have nearly every keyboard. We'll just do a Skype chat before you come visit to make sure you're sane. :thumb:
