Seriously, if you're a fan of the great Toho Godzilla films (not the recent one, or whatever happened w/ Mathew Brodrick) you gotta see Shin Godzilla.
If I may even be as bold to say it is the best Godzilla movie ever made... I think.

It's... not awful .. i mean.. I'm ok with this..  but... i mean.. terminator 2 was just much better a movie.. idk..

This might be an ok iteration.. but  I think the trouble with the Film industry of japan in general is that they don't have the funding structure..


Probably it's as much as anyone can do with the budget of only 15 million.

Any American film made with that much would probably be way worse.

Satomi Ishihara looks good,  but these days, we're looking at engineering excellence over genetic stock.  Nonetheless very good on screen appeal..


it's like comparing MDF  boards to Rift-sawn..


MDF is very flat and uniform but it lacks the natural connection.


That said,  you can apply veneering to mdf,  and it's still a nice looking table.. and overall just as functional..

The Gozilla super weapon this time around makes less sense though, because for a focused particle beam like that would almost certainly require some sort of lensing


Since this is not an optical laser..  This system is most likely gravitational lensing..

So they really needed to explain the godzilla weapon in terms of some sort of fusion induced microblack hole structure that godzilla is able to create within his oral diaphragm..


Then by using gravitational lensing,  godzilla can control and focus the radioactivity which his  cellular structure works on..

Overall.. probably nothing short of $150,000,000 would give us believable cgi of this era..
