Comcast's 1TB monthly cap
« on: Sat, 29 July 2017, 08:29:43 »
Seems so 2008, get with the times Comcast!! How do we still get charged for going over 1TB of usage a month?? Running a game update on my PS4 takes over 34GB and that's just one game. Then you have multiple devices, OS updates, Steam, phone updates.

I need to watch Twitch and all my YouTube subs!

Do we need to riot? Take to the streets? Hop on my neighbors WiFi maybe?

We should probably blame Trump, I'm sure he's behind it somehow. :)

Of course he is, like everything else anti-citizen and anti-consumer.

Verizon's top lawyer/lobbyist as FCC Chairman was one of his first appointments.

"However, even though I was born in the Mesozoic, I do know what anyone who wants to reach out to young people should say: Billionaires took your money. They took your chance to buy a home. They took your chance at a good education. They stole your opportunities. Billionaires took the things you want in life. If you really want those things, you have to take them back.
That's the message. That's the whole message. Say that every day, not just to reach America's frustrated young white men, but people of every age, race, and gender.
Late-stage capitalism is a wealth-concentration engine, focused on vacuuming up every dollar and putting it in as few hands as possible. Republicans are helping that vacuum suck.
How does a tiny fraction of the population get away with this? They do it by dividing the other 99% of Americans against themselves."

Tp4 haz gigabit fios.. $105/month including the basic TV..

They throttle the upload rate pretty strictly, but I've found ways around it.

I wonder why they only apply it in certain areas.  Not that I'm complaining as I'm not affected. :)

I have customers who are still on dial up, most (not all) can get satellite but the price is insane.

Most are on DSL at this point, thankfully.

I remember i had dsl for ~3 months. it was during a promotion where it was actually slightly cheaper than cable broadband.

and i didn't get any calls for the half the time because the little filter thing wasn't working..
