Ultra portable linux laptop

Does anyone have a recommendation for an ultra-portable, linux laptop?  (aside from the Dell XPS 13 Developers Edition...unless you have a compelling reason to go that route.)

Linux runs on pretty much anything.

First pick a Price point,

Then look out for IPS screen (look for good gamut coverage if possible, 72%ntsc or 90%+ srgb (they're equivalent), 

Don't have to get an intel cpu, but at the moment, it's pretty much all intel. 

Weight and battery life are loosely related in these smaller laptops so you'd have to google for reviews.

How small?

The best easy, off-the-shelf option you can get will probably be a Lenovo Thinkpad X or T, they always have fantastic Linux support.
I'd also probably look at the LG Gram. Hp corporate/business level stuff also usually does pretty well with Linux.

Basically you want to look at corporate grade stuff for the best Linux support (Hp, Dell, Lenovo, Sager). Home grade computers are usually poorly made but also tend to throw non-standard components in to save money while corporate grade tries to use standard stuff.


If those options are too large and heavy let me know, I keep a list of small and light laptops (sub 12in screen) that have some horsepower. It's kind of a niche market.
