Pokemon Go Thread
« on: Thu, 07 July 2016, 07:46:53 »
Post anything Pokemon Go related.

So far haven't really gone out to catch anything, but the next few days I'll be out so I'll have plenty of time to look for pokemon. So far only good pokemon is a 181CP Pinsir.

There's a thread up already, https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=83275.new#top

Probably should sticky it for the moment, given the popularity of Pokemon on this forum.

can't even register or login

Can't log in either. I was logged in fine until this morning, then about an hour ago it kicked me off and I can't log in at all. I have a Pokemon Trainer Club account, if that matters.

moistgun said he was having some lag issues. Wonder if they're just getting hit with the lunch-time wave.

I caught a Bulbasaur, was told my username was taken, then saw I'd have to walk into dark scary parks at night that might have other people in them and turned it off.

I've found the data usage isn't that bad at all, it does however drain a good amount of battery but understandably so as your screen is on, data is on (Mobile data or WiFi), GPS is on and it is constantly generating 3D polygons. My phone gets quite hot too.

Complaining about the servers is unfair, as the game was only soft launched for certain regions, but people went ahead impatiently (like myself) and got it anyways. If people in Australia/New Zealand/USA want to complain, blame the Canadians, Africans, Asians and Europeans. :P
