It's between hades 2, and sonic crosswrolds.

Tp4 is not buying both. Decisions.

Crossworlds seems to have decent performance, Tp4 estimates you need a 4090/5080 to get solid 4K 120fps+

Unfortunately Tp4's 79xtx falls way short. May be able to do 90-100fps @ 4k.

Hades 2 though, gpu, no problem.

Hrrm..

The other thing to note is, the Graphics style of Sonic crosswrolds, despite using unreal engine 5,  they've made most stage elements very stripped down to go cross-platform, it's really not leveraging the capability of the engine, or PC hardware.  Extremely held back by the business model here.

Watching the sonic game footages so far, Seems like the color mastering in game are messed up.

If feels like, they tuned it for a REAALLy high brightness.  But what we're seeing is a detuned muted version of it.

Researching further, it looks like they "removed" HDR support from the advertisement a month ago.

For testing, Tp4 cranked his TV as much as possible, pushing to 400 nits or so, the colors of the track finally come alive.

So it seems, the visuals are NOT-well-mastered , again, probably due to multi-platform /hdr/yes/no issue, resulting in lack of polish.

Hades II,  perfect colors.

Also, sonic crossworld music is pretty jank/ messed up. It sounds like a jumble and sped up.

Crossworlds is really good (only played demo), I think it is more fun than Mario Kart World

Hades 2 is still in development and I won't buy till 1.0

Sonic demo, gameplay feels like,  boop , boop , booop, boop boop, bop, hrrrrrghhhh, boop, pshhhew pshew. beeeeee...

The music is what's really messing it up, most of it sounds like it's on fast forward. Feels weird, can't get into the rhythm.

The handling is more reasonable this time around vs racing transformed.

Tp4 is 93% sure he wants to buy Hades 2.

But fear of missing out on Sonic Crosswurl 7%.    If sonic crosswurl had 120fps, that would tip the scale further, but the 60fps limit is holding Tp4 back.

I mean, if you really think about it, Hades 2 is vamp survivr with better graphics, and manageable dodging.

It can't be bad.

Borrowed friend's account to do some test runs of hades 2.

Ok, soooo. early game, yea it is pretty stressful.   No eyepain "yet".

Vampire survivor caused MAJOR eye pain 4 TP, but the Tp4 believes it's mainly because of how small the elements that you need to pay attention to are.

The elements are much bigger in hades2.

Now, it still requires ALOT of focus to play well, because you have to know the enemy's projectile type and how to space yourself.

The best early build is clearly to go for the beam, cuz it's spam-able and you get the 40 units of armor while you wait which most early game enemys will not blow through.

Surprisingly demanding on the GPU if you want to run it at max throughput. The engine can pull all the jigrwattz.

/Convinced.

This is a fantastic game.  Almost no eye strain vs Vampyr survivor.

Art Direction is good. Looks AI-y buhhh oh well, it's probably going to be like this going forward.

Lots of replayability.

Performance is very good. Seems like the engine isn't 1000% rock solid on frames, but pretty darn solid.

The internal superscaler doesn't look as good as if you let the GPU do it.

For example, if you enable super resolution, and select 7840x4320, it renders that, but using the internal scaler, some aspects of the "Line Art" are too thick around their fingers/arms/legs, so the characters look bloated.

You can also see a bit of blurring from the internal scalar. Now, if you set desktop to 7840x4320, then the Game does not scale internally, it sends the full res to the GPU, and the GPU scales now,  This creates a much cleaner picture. The black line art have much better definition, you can especially see this around fingers. Where the shoulder meets the body also looks svelt, whereas the internal made it look blotchy.

The game runs up to 360. Anything above 200 will have minimal input lag even if the GPU is maxed out. However, if things get too busy, this can easily dip to 150, where you can feel those 30-40ms spikes.  End of the world no, but maybe a sensible mid res is better. Still testing.

The faces are also clearer on middle resolutions like 5-7K using the GPU scaler vs in-engine.
