Just had a run, Got +40% crit chance on Hex, got wolf-howl maxed out, Just non stop leaps, you also get 100% crit on the second +1 leap. You're basically invincible because it's only 80 mana to reload, and you get 30 shield on deploy.
Was using Coat, and it out ranges most enemies. It has +20% speed base, then boons + 20% +20% +10%. Nothing can catch you, just flying around, lockon, fly around, charge attack block, fly around, deploy wolf howl..
Weakness is base damage, but who cares, you got wolf howl. It's much more consistent, because the AI won't catch you. Whereas the other hexes that hit harder, like lunar ray+artemis godsent, or total eclipse, these are much more dangerous and less consistent due to positioning. Wolf Howl can always reposition, and the range is almost anywhere on the visible screen.
It can be argued, the strongest element in the game are actually walls, because they're indestructible, and if you play around walls, you can stop the most dangerous enemies, because they don't have a counter routine besides bigger area-damages, which are telegraphed.
