An Xwhatsit controller for my IBM 5251 beam spring.  Though I still need to clean the keycaps and the case.
(Attachment Link)

Damn that is sexy. I want to try a beam spring board pretty bad....and a USB one? o.O  How do they feel to you?

Man that looks awesome. I can't wait to get mine :D

Received a Nixdorf PCB with the original 'soft-touch' blacks with clear tops. These things are SMOOTH.

Stabilisers are held in with screws.

Damn...those screw in stabilizers look amazing. Could you possible take a picture with the stabilizer removed from the PCB just so we can see how the screw-in works?

Not in the mail today, but picked up in person not too long ago:

- KB-5181 with Monterey Blues:

I have to say, Monterey Blues are sexy.

- AEK II with Cream Alps

I'll update with shots of my Model F once it's all cleaned up.

Nice haul man! I want an AEKII just for those switches.

Yeah. You're not the first to suggest those caps. I'm thinking about it. I know it's nit picky but that tab key would bother me.

Yup Round4 Retro caps.

The orange cover is still my favorite in itself, but I think the blue one does go well with those caps!

Yeah I agree. I still like the orange but the cyan does go with a lot of different sets. It even looks nice with the retro set kind of reminds me of the color blue they'd use for mainframe in the early days kind of like this.

Yeah, they won't wear for a long time since they're less frequently used. Everything's doubleshot except the windowed caps.

And the IBM Model F AT (5170) pics I promised.

From this:

To this:

It cleaned up real nice and is in good condition under all that grime.  There was some tiny bits of rust on the top plate, but most of it came off with a rust remover.  I can see why people really love these keyboards though.  It has more heft to it than a Model M and feels sturdier to type on than a Model M.

Dat topre feel. It thocks less than my HHKB though.

That's what I love about the real force boards. Now if only we could make a hhkb that feels like that it would be heaven.

Sitting here with both the Realforce and the HHKB and they feel pretty similar. The Realforce's keys feel a bit more rigid, and they sound a bit more dampened. I just wish there was an HHKB with a function row and the backspace in the normal position.

I must be the only one that thinks they feel different then. RF boards feel a lot smoother IMO. I want a 55G hhkb with rf topres. That's my dream board.

I've never tried a 45g Realforce, but the 55g and the HHKB are really different. I personally prefer the HHKB by far. I would really like to try a 55g HHKB though. Perhaps I might have to cannabalize this thing to do just that...
