MKC made one, there also is the Skeldon TKL and the Vortex case that is available on mechanicalkeyboards.com.

Are there any mass produced TKL aluminum cases besides for the Vortex cases? I can't think of any. Some Korean customs that have aluminum TKL cases include:

- KMAC series
- LZ-GH
- LZ-S
- LZ-F
- Orion TKL

I think you're right.

I think an MY3000 and G80-3000 would work for you other than the Caps Lock which has an off centered stem placement.

Nope, MY3000/G81-3000 does have off center stems. I have one sitting right behind me and just double checked.

I've never heard of a mechanical keyboard with a cutout especially made for batteries. Both in the past or coming up.

They are using a "mailto:" type link. Just right click and copy email address, and paste in your web-based mail program or whatever you use to get your email.

Would the mods from a G80 be compatible with a filco?

All the modifiers on a G80-8113 or G80-8200 will work on a filco (the only noncompatible key is the spacebar and sometimes the enter key / pipe key) Keep in mind, though, that the windows keys and menu key are not doubleshot.

The bottom of the stem hits the bottom of the housing iirc. Total travel is 4mm and actuation is around 2mm, exact actuation point depends on the switch type.

Keep looking . If you want something nice, look for Originative's GMK white/beige set. It should have the kits you need for a Filco/QFR. It'll run you about $100 and you'll have to be quick on the draw, but you'll love 'em.

There's really no comparison between mx and topre. Some may claim so, but rubber is much different from plastic

Seems to be appropriate, since you like the 45g actuation MX switches. Topre may be a bit heavier; but smoother. There's no way to tell if you would like 55g or 45g better though, sorry.

Filco Minila Air might work for you as well. I didn't realize you were asking for keyboard that used AA batteries.

I'm not sure I see the correlation since I don't think that it's as easy as saying "Oh I like light switches so I'll like light MX and light Topre". I think the different switch types (Alps, Topre, MX, Buckling Spring, etc) are unique and it's going to be hard to judge by comparing from one type to another. I would suggest you try both to judge it. Plus, none of us know exactly what you're looking for in a switch. It's personal preference more than anything.
