The aluminum board is very heavy..   it's too heavy to pick up and swing quickly..

the plastic case, plated board is nimble and capable of quickdrawing.


If you'd imagine the aluminum board as a heavy cannon, it takes too long to fire,  while the guy holding a regular quickfire is akin to a guy with a regular revolver, he'll draw and kill the guy trying to light his cannon before the cannon fires.. and have time to get out of the way even if it does fire...

Yes, quite an astute analogy here. Go for alum. case if you are all about heavy ordnance, and targeting a fortified position such as the front door of your apartment. If aiming for your fiance's head, a plastic case bolstered with steel plate mounted switches is preferred.
