How do you carry your keyboard around?
« on: Fri, 23 August 2013, 18:43:43 »
It is closer and closer to school now and I wonder how do people usually carry their keyboard around. I might do it quite often since I usually do a final touch on project @ lunch time.
Any suggestions are welcome :D

I used to put my HHKB in my backpack - it has a padded compartment for a notebook where the keyboard fits quite well.

Now I want to take a Model M in to work, but it will not fit in the backpack.
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

I just throw it in my backpack, usually in a bubble wrap. For the record, my portable keyboards are TypeMatrix 2030 and Noppoo Choc Mini.

Some might say, a little reckless.

It stays in place.  I merely move the rest of the universe around it.

Not at all. I can afford to have my own keyboards wherever I need them. :p

I use a https://www.thule.com/en/no/products/luggage-and-bags/daypacks-and-messengers/thule-crossover-backpacks/thule-crossover-25l-backpack-black-_-thule_85854218474 , it got loads of space for books, mousepad, my deathadder etc. Seperate room for laptop/keyboard. I have a noppoo choc mini so no problems fitting it in the backpack. Feels really solid aswell

I don't go anywhere..

I just shuffle my Edx across the table by hand from time to time.
