so i just went to my job to put my 2 weeks notice in and this was the response i got. Let me remind you this is a warehouse partime job...

boss: "you cant do that, you have to go to the main office in freehold because you have 5-7call outs(bull****)..."

me "you do realize im quitting my job and not asking for anything right, like this is just notice im leaving in 2 weeks"

boss "ugggh come in tomorrow when my boss is here"

*face palm*

i actually came in to speak with HR about it, but he wasnt there for the day. I really wish i knew what my boss was trying to say about call outs? does he mean i cant quit because i have called out of work to much??? LOL

That's messed up man. He's lucky you even gave a two weeks. I'd just leave two weeks from that day and tell hr you told him. Don't want to work more then you have to there bro!

Problem is that I'm on my own, only getting help tomorrow and the road along side the flat isn't a road you can stop on (I don't think) as it's also part of a taxi rank of some kind.

Oh, ****. That sounds very central! I would offer to help but I'm at work all day. :( I would suggest using the pavement. If it's wide enough, just park completely on the pavement :P

You know new street station and the tesco next to it? Well the road that goes past that tesco is the one I'm talking about.
Thinking the best thing to do is park up at the bullring and just carry stuff through town lol

Ohhhh yeah, the one opposite Starbucks? I see where your problem is. Maybe park up by the Cathedral? I'm sure it's pay and display around there.

Thanks :) I'm pretty happy we have it sorted, although the vendor's sale fell through a few days ago which sucks, they are going to have to find a new place now so I'm hoping we aren't waiting around for too long.

Gl with that buddie good thing it didn't fall apart lol

And yeah, that's a damn good idea

Pressed enter and have been looking at this screen for 10 minutes - can I pull the plug yet?  Even just one recognised CPU core is better than a bricked mobo...

It's on an 8 year old Shuttle that's always been temperamental, I've not switched it on for years.  The DVD drive is spewing hardware errors (delays linux boot by 30 seconds) and the CPU is only using one core - not sure I've ever got far enough to see that before.  I could partially install windows 7 on another computer and transplant the drive but the PSU fan would fall off (it's hot glued on :)))

I convinced it to boot a windows 98 CD to get to DOS then could see a USB stick with the flasher which is what you can see.  I pulled the plug and nothing had changed, so I tried again without backup and it flashed.  Sadly it still acts the same...  It's for an e-mail checking and solitaire box - not worth spending any money on but has to work!

To be honest... I'm not sure Male Sifo-s are capable of the inane-love that's in the movies..

Sifo-s in my experience have been mostly practical, and the love is ultimately superficial,  and at best a sunk cost to which the pair later decide isn't worth remortgaging ..

Actually,, now that I think about it,  almost all relationships are like this.. hahahaha.

Got a letter from Mercury Insurance about the guy who backed into me.  It's a "how can we assign some blame to you letter".  I already told my insurance company the story, have a picture of the back of his car, and have a signed note of him admitting fault.

Thus one seems like it's going to be a bigger PITA than the last.

And still waiting on my deductible from the last.  How long does it take to get my money back to me?  My student loan company would like to know the answer.

Car wrecks have been the bane of my existence.

You are always screwed, no matter what the circumstances or who was at fault.

If you can keep it down to the rate of approximately one per decade, you can almost forget how much anguish it entails.

"It's 110, but it doesn't feel it to me, right. If anybody goes down. Everybody was so worried yesterday about you and they never mentioned me. I'm up here sweating like a dog. They don’t think about me. This is hard work.
Do you feel the breeze? I don't want anybody going on me. We need every voter. I don't care about you. I just want your vote. I don't care."

The strength of the spring in the SD card slot of this newish camera.

One time the SD card sprang out and nearly went down the heating vent.

This time it shot half way across the room onto the carpet (fortunately no static damage).
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

Well I've not moved yet, because all my mates where busy and family are away, all I've done for the moment is move my stuff out of my flat and into my grandma's garage so I can then move it into the new place.

Had to get out of my flat, my house mate was a serious ****ing mental

Is this the meaningful kind of relationship with an Animal pet ?

Or one with a Human female,  to which by tomorrow, you'll probably realize she isn't good for you, and holding you back from achieving your potential..

Neither. But much closer to scenario 2. Perhaps tomorrow I will see things differently, and for the better, whatever that may be.

Don't worry bro..

If you manage to avoid her for 18 months,  the limerence will fade..

Memory is associative,  so get a new GF as soon as possible,  and the old one's psychological hold on you will fade extremely quickly..

This is especially true, if you engage in sexy time with the new girlfriend..

Because sexy-time rapidly establishes new pair-bonding neural links..  Quickly usurping your old flames...

Well I had another sit down with work. Pay raise in October/November like they said the other day. Why do I bother? Work forever so I can come home to my empty ****ing house and wait till I can do it all again the next day. **** my life, can't even find the smallest little bit of happiness.

Living to work is not much of a life. Everyone says that you need to love what you do or quit and do what you love. Money is the main problem there obviously. Eventually you will see a way to game the system. I know it looks dark now, but there is light at the end of the tunnel. Save money until you can do something you've always wanted to. Take less hours to enjoy your days while still having financial stability. Find a similar job, but with people who are genuinely fun to be around and tell them "you needed a change of scenery". Find a completely new job and focus on the positives. I won't pretend to understand where you are at mentally and emotionally, I have just had major stress/depression problems in the past (and maybe a little currently). Hang in there

Thanks man. One of the most frustrating parts about this whole situation is I really like the work and the people, I just hate feeling like I'm being taken advantage of. I'll just have to get my head down and hope that they don't **** me when the pay raise eventually arrives.

You're definitely right about needing to find something I can enjoy, I haven't been on a holiday in years and that was how I've dealt with the stress in the past. Might need to figure out a way to get away for some camping at least in the next couple of months so I can unwind.
It's a good width!  If it's half-width it's too narrow, and full-width is too wide.

You should definitely try to plan a holiday! Even just having the end-goal in sight, and being able to plan for it, helps me during stressful times!

I'm about 80% sure that the longest and most meaningful relationship in my life is ending.

Is this the meaningful kind of relationship with an Animal pet ?

Or one with a Human female,  to which by tomorrow, you'll probably realize she isn't good for you, and holding you back from achieving your potential..

Show Image

Quickly usurping your old flames...

inanis is female.  ;)  I suspect that's why it's "Neither" but "much closer to scenario 2".  :)

Shhhh...you are going to blow TP's mind.

One of my biggest fears is the dentist. I hope it feels better soon. Tooth pain sucks.
