Like they think I have no idea what a floppy disc or a VHS tape is. Even I had some VHS tapes as a little kid
I keep a lot of old gear around. We still watch VHS (occasionally) and I have a couple of floppy drives (which have not been used in several years, and never by them).
My kids know how to play records, but aren't interested for themselves. One of our most amusing incidents was about 10 years ago when they were in grade school and I brought out my old black 1970s Nortel phone. I asked whether they knew how to dial a phone and they said "Of course, Daddy" so I said "OK, call my cell number" and they looked at the rotary dial dumbfounded.
They do understand how much better and cleaner it sounds than any of our solid state phones, but they don't care to use it themselves.
What makes me cringe is when they call something like a 1998 movie "really old"
And the fact that they both used to be avid readers, but pretty much stopped completely when they got smart phones.
