That I just got another ****ing bill from the hospital that I had the surgery at almost 4 months ago.  I checked in at noon, got loaded with drugs, was in surgery for 45 minutes, and then slept off the drugs until the next day when they kicked me out at 10AM.  Somehow, this whole visit is being billed at over $33,000 and I keep getting this little random bills after I pay off the other ones.  God I hate the health care industry in the country, when will the old people die off so we can get a single-payer system up in here?  I'm sorry but using a hospital bed for 18 hours and having a minor (their words, not mine) laparoscopic surgery should not be billed at over $30K.

Was it robotic? My wife had a procedure done end of last year and it used a fancy robot and was out patient, cost all totaled was at least $50K.

We had some restructuring occur due to budget cuts leading into this year, so I'm literally sitting in a room watching a copier run copies for the next 3 hours. I get paid too much to be this unproductive and I have too much work to do to be doing this.

physics is stupid... I don't care about the "proof" or "explanation" I just want to know the mechanics.... i don't want to know how fast the cheetah is going just give me the formula and stop with the stupid explanations...

Ummmm....

I guess you're just frustrated with the textbook stuff right now..

But in the real world.. when it comes to Math oriented jobs,  Much of it is Explaining data or equations to people who don't understand them..

These jobs pay the most..

There are very few quant-oriented jobs where you just apply equations without baseline thinking and analysis of WHY you did what you did...

Move to the UK m8, we have no medical bills here.

Well, most of the problems you're working with now in the book are designed TO_BE_SOLVED by algebra.

But , if you pursue physics,  eventually the application of equations won't always be so obvious, and that is the point where you will need to understand all of these proofs and fundamental information..   -to even begin knowing what your input and output aught to be.

Okay now pretend you're in the real world where you aren't spoonfed these formulas and variables.  How do you know what's relevant to the situation and what isn't?  What if you're doing your own rough derivation on the fly?  What if you're not 100% certain what's related and what isn't, or need to do a quick dimensional analysis on something?

Lol the issue really isn't the explanation. Yeah I understand if I going to actually use physics I need to know as to why and how I can use this formula. But I am just annoyed at the fact that I need to learn physics for one semester and I am never going to touch the subject again Because it's a general education class. I just want to get my homework done to get points :'( I don't want to read the book lol. Why are we forced to learned irrevelant subjects?

Basically I'm lazy

Education is about way more than your  job. It's part of being a citizen and a human being. An educated populace is less likely to buy into the idea that evolution/climate change aren't real or that vaccines give people autism. Knowing basic principles of separation of power make it less likely that you'll believe that the president can change state libel laws. etc. etc. etc.

woah woah woah..

Vaccines MAY give people autism,  we don't know for sure..

Climate change.. again, we're not sure

Evolution..  Pretty sure,  but doesn't exclude ALL possibility of a creator.

So you're saying we should learn every subject just for the sake of being educated? How does learning physics skew my thoughts on vaccines giving autism. I'm not saying they do but how does that help.
And let's be honest how well can an average brain retain a subject you learned in 6 months 2 to 6 years from now unless you kept practicing it.
The details will be very vague by then.

Even just having a basic understanding of how the world interacts is useful, whether for a specific instance or just improving your interactions and experiences.  Think of all the people out there proposing perpetual motion machines as legitimate solutions to problems, and now imagine if they had a basic understanding of physics.

In many ways, Yes, you should have baseline knowledge in many things.

That allows you to see further into what's possible.

Knowing basic principles of separation of power make it less likely that you'll believe that the president can change state libel laws. etc. etc. etc.

But physics isn't My passion :'(

Biology isn't my passion, but I'm better off for learning it.  Also, it took a few years and multiple teachers for both chemistry and biology to be taught in a way that made sense to me (in the sense of true understanding, not simply "understanding" the parts of a cell).  It seems like having a negative experience early on can really taint the whole learning experience moving forward.

I'm not trying to convince you that you should be having fun every day in school or that you should love physics, I'm just trying to convince you to have a more open mind and try to take in any and all knowledge you can - even if it doesn't seem immediately applicable.

For the record, I ended up majoring in both Chemical Engineering and Chemistry (imagine where I'd be if I didn't keep an open mind about it ;) ).

Also apparently I've been had, but I'm keeping it because I still think it's true and even if you're not serious about hating on physics I think it's a valid approach to things you don't like.

I hope none of you have been taking me seriously.  :))

biology>physics
I'd like to know what my body is made out of or any other organism

lol stop this argument I'm only complaining about physics! It's more boring than trig. You guys are assuming too many things from some broken english I've written. I've actually enjoyed every class I've taken, even world religions! I'm just being asinine lol

EDIT: japanese was silly I was in a room filled with weeaboos. It was a nightmare

The first one I caught was late, meaning I missed my second one. So I had to get an Uber. Luckily it was free because I signed my gf up to it last week. But because my car is in the shop until Thursday then I have to get a load more...
