China actually makes stuff out of the "Energy" they buy.


And RMB, functionally, 20 years ago, what could you buy with it, not much. But today, you can buy fleets of electric busses/ cars/ drones/ drone attack subs/ hypersonic missiles/ RPG/ guided bombs/ drone strike carriers/ 5G networking infrastructure/ Totalitarian Skynet facial recognition camera systems/ Everything a budding dictator needs.

On this he's right.
I'm not condoning why he said it, but he is right in that you cannot just blindly follow public opinion, the media chases eyeballs so as soon as a story loses it's pull they will flip the script just to drive up engagement again and the public will follow.

You are right that he is right about that, although 2/3 of the population being against a war on the other side of the world is pretty convincing ....

Here, today, where margins are usually extremely slim and a couple of percentage points being considered a "decisive" victory, it doesn't take much blind flipping to do extraordinary damage.

It is customary for poll results to also report the portion of responders who are "undecided". If this poll would have followed that convention, then that other third would have included those and those for.

Man, physical jobs just really wipe you out both mentally and physically. After spending over a decade in offices, anyone who complains about white collar work without ever having worked a physical 9-5 can **** right off. I even hear people complaining about remote work, like, your commute to work is 30 seconds and you can break pretty much whenever you want. You don't even need pants. Sure, office jobs can be emotionally damaging, but they don't drain your entire will to live or lift a finger after the day is over.

Sinus infections suck. Feels like I swallowed razor blades, thick highlighter-yellow mucus, that slight buzzy feeling from not having slept much.

I had car accident last week - when driving off roundabout, speeding drunk driver hit my car really hard - I called police (he ran away), but they caught him. Today insurance told me that my car is a called a total loss
Now, they going to give me crap money for it, as it was over 11 years old and market value is not that high, but mine was immaculate, had many extras etc Because that little ****ing prick, I lost my car and don't know if I'll be able to buy same one. I knew my car, bought it when was 3 years old, took care of him, it was amazing, clean, perfect car...
I wish I could just find that guy and cut him to pieces...

Tp4 has to drive all the time these days.  It's honestly INSANE that humans drive at all.

You interact with other humans on the internet, and in real life, and it is so clear most humans should not be allowed to drive.

Especially at night, when EVERYONE is tired.

I'm sure it is the same there as here, any trip to the body shop is $3K minimum and quickly goes up from there.
And after a car has "x" miles on it (and years) its "value" plummets, regardless of its actual condition. I also drive a vehicle with many years and miles that is well-maintained and worth far more than any insurance company would pay out - so I also live in fear of any major "event"
