Rings are easy to add, I have them on all my boards. There is a reason the net is flooded w/ refurbished G710+, it's a POS IMHO. Caps are prone to break, legend placement is bad (shifted symbols aren't illuminated), soldering is shoddy (LED rows giving out), software is a PITA, backlight can't be controlled on a single LED level. No onboard memory, so you have to use LT's gaming software -- I couldn't make it remember my settings for those extra keys (may be fixed in the current version tho.) Besides that, the board is quite clunky, very thick and extra wide. I did not find it comfortable to use, if you want something to type on for extended periods of time I would say stay away.
Most 710 features can be found in the Corsair K70 (except extra keys and O-rings), check that one out. Between the two the K70 is way better IMHO. Else I would look at CM Storm XT boards if you want something no-nonsense HQ at Filco level.
