I'm shocked, never seen this English mustard powder.

People are generally good,  it's always the corrupt leadership, time to cut their heads off?

This powder is great though,  only slightly spensive.

It's basically a very pure sushi wasabi powder without the other additives like corn/tumeric.

The thing in the jar might have salt and other additives.

Chives = Infinite money hack.

It grows like weed, FASTER than grass,  grass wishes it could be Chives.
Survives winter, you never need to buy seeds ever again.
It self-regulates growth density, do nothing, it just does it all by itself.
It will out compete most other weeds/grasses.

Brocolli at the store is like $$$$$
Tomato is only affordable to $Millionaires.

Chives, put it in a half shaded area, a little water on it, and it BLOWS Uppppppp...

With the economy what it is,    Chives people, this is the way.

You can grow almost any produce from the store. Chives, green onions are good because you can grow from a cutting quickly.
I'm currently trying to deal with about 40 heirloom tomato plants that all sprouted from one cross section slice. Just one slice!

When I started gardening in earnest I got canning gear and a dehydrator.
Both essential.

speaking of which, wtf is a rutabaga & what do you do with a celery root?
"Rutabaga", also known as "Swede" or "Swedish Turnip" is a spherical root vegetable that is cross between cabbage and turnip.
The flavour carries the bitterness of cabbage but also a little sweetness. Most often boiled, mashed and served with different dishes of salted pork or ham.
In Finland, there is a dish where mashed swede is mixed with syrup, cream and crumbs and and egg, flavoured with ginger (and sometimes nutmeg and/or allspice) and baked to make a gratin, not unsimilar to a sweet potato pie without the crust, but again: most often served together with pork and not as a dessert.
(It is not typically called "rutabaga" in Swedish, only "rotabagge" in a specific dialect)

Celery root is the root of celery. It is also spherical, looking similar to swede. It is sometimes easiest to tell them apart by smell as celery root has the tanginess of celery (obviously).
Also needs to be boiled to eat but is tougher and stringier. Celery root is most often used for soups, I think, and often a major part of vegetable stock.
Last night I diced some finely and used in a Bolognese to give it more flavour.
You might find a recipe for a dish where a slice of celery root is simmered in stock or baked for a long time, but I think that is much overrated.

Tp4's chives patch is 0.75m^2,   Eating chives EVERY DAY,  unlimited chives, it won't stop growing..

Have you seeeeen Chive prices @ the store lately??   You'd have to be a millionaire.

500g for $3-5,   when cooked that's barely anything, you need at least 3 bundles.  THAT's $9-15 per dish.

Tp4 eats a bunch of chives as thick as upper thigh every day..  Again it cookes down to nothing.

Yeah, I use spring onions (basically chive) in every japanese, thai or chinese dish I make for my family. Small bundle is £1 here in Scotland.
If I use 2-3 in a dish, its pretty expensive for just an addition/extra ingredient.
Jesus, I hate to see how food prices go up here. Seriously, I know it happens everywhere, but its really bad.
OK, they should raise prices for sweets or fuzzy drinks, which are not healthy - if you want it, pay for it, but veggies?
I also hate what Asda (local shop) did with veggies - about 2 years ago they stopped putting dates on them, so basically, when I buy a bundle of white onions (3), 1 out of 3 is bad, unusable. But you cannot tell that when you are picking them. Same for tomatoes - we use them on sandwiches, but thing is, if they alreayd half bad when you are buying them, then they go bad in a day in our fridge. Its a roulette buy veggies here :(

I think chives and spring onions taste a little different, still.
I have sometimes planted the root end of store-bought spring onions where I had chopped off the top: those have grown lengthwise but never recovered their width. Maybe I should cut off only the top third before planting?

The VAT on food here in Sweden was reduced a few weeks ago as a way to reduce the impact of the ongoing oil crisis, but the actual price reduction for consumers wasn't that large and on some goods none at all where stores didn't bother to relabel their goods. The lower VAT is only supposed to be temporary, so I expect the prices to rise more afterwards to levels higher than if there hadn't been a VAT reduction at all ...

Fresh green vegetables are probably the most seasonal, labor-intensive, and perishable items in the store.

Nah, that's definitely compound berries. Raspberries, strawberries, blackberries, will have mold on them often even before they are put on the shelf. But they move in such high volume, and are often on sale enough that it only affects maybe 20% of sales. Still very high for mold content.

for my store it's a simple 1:1 exchange. you bring in an unsatisfactory product and you can just grab a new one no charge or get your $$ back w/ a receipt, no questions.
produce is easily the most returned/exchanged.
