7G, button doesn't work

Hey guys,  few weeks ago i've asked for some place to buy switches to my 7G, so I've did some iron-soldering and the button doesn't work.
Any ideas what's the cause?

Can you take a picture of just the joint you soldered close up? It's impossible to see what your joint looks like from that angle.

Looks like you torched the pad and then tried to glob on solder to try and fix the connectivity. You can try reflowing that bubble and seeing if it fixes it. If not, you'll have to jump it to another switch. I have a few lifted pads on my Kingsaver which I managed to fix by just adding tons of solder like you tried. So there's a chance you don't need to jump it.

So like I said I messed up some of my Kingsaver's pads. A possible fix would be like this post from intelli78. See that red wire? That's referred to as jumping the switch.



You'll have to figure out where the traces line up or ask someone else who is more knowledgeable than I.

Just make sure to doublecheck and do more research 'cause this isn't my strong suit. I've always had a lot of backup when I went into PCB repairs.

since this is low precision stuff, no need to consider length of wire or resistance..

Bridge the fried solder point to ANY of the yellow dots i've marked..

If you could provide a Higher-Res (in focus) picture,  I can make sure those points are correct..


But.. it SHOULD be right as is..   (you need to dl the picture and ZOOM IN)

also.. try the Points  further away from the controller before you go direct.. 

This is so that you don't fry the solder points most nearest to controller, because in order to fix a fry there,   You may have to solder to the OTHER side   and that might be inconvenient..

if it's intermittent, that means the problem is not fixed..

you can solder to any of the dots I labeled in (Yellow)

I assume the one chared contact that's black is the one that's not making a good connection..

if that's not the one,   then just follow the trace of the other switch prong..



The Traces are JUST WIRES.. but flat..  don't think of them as this complicated thing that you can't move around...
