I need this kind, but I don't know the name for it, where the "root" is swooped/tapered

The purpose of those groves is so that you can easily clean -that-area,

Because if you go over the regular forks with the sponge, the sponge can not easily contact that small area..

I'm not a clean freak or anything..  but, since I am gonna get new forks, why not get the right ones.

I would recommend that you consider whether you use the fork more often as a "spear" or a "shovel"

Personally, I think that almost any fork works well enough as a spear, but the tines need to be relatively wide (horizontally) and thin (vertically) to function effectively as a shovel.

Thus, many forks are too "spear-like" for my personal preference.

I think if the Inner edge of the tines were also tapered.. It would also improve cleaning..

Ok, just wondering..  Is the squarish prong design merely cheaper to manufacture or does it serve the purpose of increasing the area of expansion, thereby increasing the "grip" of the fork..

That handle type is far too thin

I like a heavy handle with a little thickness. My parents got me a nice Allan Adler flatware set when I got my first place which have held up fantastically over the last 12 years, and I expect to get a further 20-30 out of them. They are definitely a 'buy it once' kinda deal as the quality and feel is totally apparently compared to ****ty plastic handled things you get at Wal Mart or whatever.

These are what I have - Allan Adler Round End. The only things I'd replace them with is maybe a really nice Towle set if they were gifted to me.

Jesus. Those are the most minimalist cutlery sets I've ever seen. And I love it.

I can’t recommend using a fork as a replacement for either a spear or a shovel. As a javelin, the fork is not long enough or heavy enough to fly far or straight, and as a lance or pike, the fork has a very limited reach. In either case, your opponent is likely to have a more effective weapon, and you’ll probably die. As a shovel, a fork is quite small, and digging even a modest hole is going to take a very long time.

I'd say vintage pitchforks shaped like this : are more conveniant, and generally last longer due to better materials, I just like to mod mine in order to had an handle, and a grip in the mid-section.


There's also this shape, that I find useless, it's not efficient at all. If it didn't get me laid once in this BDSM bar, I would say it's my worst purchase ever.
