Ah good old Stepmania. No substitute for the real thing unless you have an arcade replica hard pad and a kicking sound system, but an amusing diversion nonetheless. I still play it sometimes. The muscle memory, once formed, never goes away.
I never got too big into fanmade stuff, most of it I've tried just aims for being lolcrazyhard! rather than anything original or fun or even following the damn music. (There are of course exceptions to this, such as the old Bemaniruler versions of A and V, which are composed of utter madness but still follow things in the actual song, or a version of Stoic that came out before Extreme did that did lots of fun nonsense with freezes and BPM changes... Well back then I was using DWI but the files still work.) I have motor issues that make moving that fast basically physically impossible so it's not even attainable, let alone enjoyable. I've always been the same way with official stuff too. So much stuff just falls into lol 16th/32nd step jump streams because I can!1. Pfft.
Now if only I could get a decent Doubles experience on a keyboard. Maybe whenever I finally get my Planck, that'll have enough gridded keys. Still no substitute for the real thing though. Gods I miss having DDR machines around.

...I'm still irritated that you can get an AA without a full combo nowadays. What is this nonsense.
