What American sport to get into next?
« on: Sat, 11 February 2017, 01:06:37 »
So as some of you know i'm into the NFL (go Redskins) and over the last few years I've started to get a little into the NHL and NBA but don't watch either with any amount of regularity.

I thought i would continue the trend and support the Capitals and the Wizards respectively (which has turned out p well for me this year) but I am not sure which sport to involve some time and money into. My problem is that due to living in the UK, there are no channels that show the games live or even highlights that don''t require additional TV subscriptions, so my only option would be to subscribe to the league equivalent online service (NHL TV or NBA League pass).

Basically my question is; which one should I watch? I don't feel any personal preference over either at the moment, but I feel the NBA would give me a lot more games to watch, even if the Capitals might win the Stanley Cup this year...

P.S: I miss football already :'(

In general.. I think people will probably stop playing physical sports as esports develop.

Why is esports superior..   Because ANYONE can play... and the cost of organizing a team linked by the internet is way-cheaper than Showing up at Josh's house..  then go to the playground,  then wait for the court, then play..

This Josh's house routine seem like the way things are done today.. But fewer and fewer people visit the playground instead opting for xbox..

If you want to get on the growth train.. Esport is where it's at....

Esports is also very easy to fix..  which the Casinos LOVE...  it's much easier to fix esport matches than REAL sports..

Casinos are the true power behind the popularity of sports in the first place..  Gambling is the most important aspect to Sports production..

the rest of that hogwash.. Sports, Soul, Just Do it...  that's all just marketing designed to sell you shoes, as if buying shoes means you've participated in sports/soul/justdoit..

hahaaha..

I am already into esports.

But I don't think they will replace regualr physical sports, regardless of how they change. People will always want to see physical prowess, be it in the olympics or wherever else.

This is reserved for people who's never had the time to ask the question.. WHY throw ball far..

We simply do not live in the jungle anymore where that trait is of great advantage..

Assuming humanity does not regress,  more and more people will only begin to reserve their body against physical exertion, as it causes unnecessary wear and injury risk.

This is just the overarching movement..   I agree that in OUR lifetime,  we would not see the completion of shift to such ends.

I could never get into NHL despite my love for the physicality of sports like football or boxing.

I love watching basketball. It is a very fun time to be a fan of the sport in general as we watch it evolve. You've got people shooting the lights out like never before, forwards playing point and running offenses, a few dudes doing the work of a whole team stat-wise. I can turn on any Warriors, Cavs, Rockets, Thunder, Spurs, Celtics, and more and just be enthralled. I haven't been this big of a fan of basketball since elementary school. The media talks like there is only two teams most of the time, but there is some dynamite individual play (Greek Freak, Isaiah Thomas, Harden, Westbrook, Embiid, and so on) and great team play (Spurs, Toronto come to mind).
My wife I a also push her button . But now she have her button push by a different men. So I buy a keyboard a mechanicale, she a reliable like a Fiat.

NBA is a lot of fun to watch right now.  Great team play and incredible individual players.  I considered getting NBA League Pass or Sling TV just to watch more games besides playoffs.  And when the best teams meet during the regular season, it's like a playoff atmosphere.

NHL is great to watch live, but the TV experience is lacking. I wished they switched up camera angles more, it would add to the viewing experience for both NBA and NHL.
Wish I had some gif or quote for this space, but I got nothing

Rude. But true. I have a feeling about the Caps this year though...

Yeah, I feel drawn towards NBA more right now, but then the amount of coverage it gets in the UK is actually zero. Like not even highlights on British versions of American sports channels. I've started to follow more NBA twitter accounts so I get a lot of that.

I think the easiest thing for me is going to just be NBA League pass. You can't see **** with the NHL default cams usually. My dad always says that they need to extend the plexiglass down so you can see the puck the whole time...

Oh... and I forgot to mention the Wizards, as I haven't watched them yet this year. I hear Wall continues to improve and is worth following. If you are gonna stick with your Washington teams, I'd say go for it.

Thanks dude. I probably will go for NBA.

On a related note, WTB Wizards gear.

Gambling and Sports go hand in hand..

That's where the BIG money is..   you think they make money on t-shirts and shoes.. but No... BILLIONS come out of casinos,  ontop of the Billions of drug money the system is at capacity to launder..

Only watch basketball when the Celtics are playing.
Only watch football when the Patriots are playing.
Never watch baseball.
Watch soccer. Don't root for UK teams.
Always watch every kind of wrestling and MMA.
