Think about how much time you're wasting, WAITING for some one to respond..



This is the same reason we stopped talking to people AFK, or via voice line..  It's so damn inefficient.



As I'm writing this,  heedpantsnow is probably masturbating to hentai,    But when he's  done,  he can read the message..




But if this was , Synchronous,  then he'd have to waste the 15 seconds it takes for me to type this message.

I agree w/ tp, IM apps give you this unspoken obligation to monitor them closely and respond quickly and that leads them to being huge time vampires. I would have so much more time at work to not do my work if I didn't have 6 chat tabs, email, my phone, and Netflix all going constantly at the same time.

Definitely in Slack. There's still a crap-ton of drama. Unfortunately, it seems pretty tame here nowadays. As much as people "hate" drama, it's really one of the main reasons I keep coming back, even if interest in keeb stuff goes on a roller coaster ride for me.

Discord is for voice and text chat.
I don't know if you can use voice chat on slack but so far it seems to be text.

Both fine platforms really. Although I tend to lurk on slack.
