for smoothies i got vitamix.

Part of my job is as a technician, and my hobby is mechanical keyboards, so I use ****tons of tools. My favourite is probably combination pliers. Those things are just good for about anything.

well anyways my favorite power tool is... oscillating sander. one of the only useful power tools i own.

But they don't tell us the percentage

It's where the tools are assembled/made that create jobs. You're referring to company ownership..

As a manufacturer...
Finding a company to make something is hard enough, most are are either swamped (and will over charge because they can't handle the load) or you can't find them and they are going out of business. Not to mention there are certain things you simply can't get made here, and even more you can't get made here reasonably, small electric motors* and electronics certainly fall into this problem.

And you can't just blame companies using these manufacturers, the manufacturers themselves are also to blame for a lot of this. It's far easier to find a Chinese manufacturer than it is to find the one just down the street from you because the Chinese guys have gotten tech savvy. Your local machine, has NOT.

The Verge did a thing on this years ago that really showed how bad it was at the time, and really it is only getting worse. While you may be able to find them easier as a result of projects like this, local fab shops are not modernizing like China is and unfortunately, even if they can afford to, they refuse to.

*Motors in particular are done overseas because China is by and large the main supplier of Neodymium for the world.

well it has to be less than 500ma * 5v,  so 2.5watt max

Took nearly an hour from question to respond - tp4 AI is slowing down.  Needs to be rebooted.

After watching AvE's tear-down of the Makita DHP481/XPH07 hammer drill I'm thinking of getting one:

The chuck is made in Japan and has the least amount of run-out (wobble, test @ 3:45) of the drills he's tried, on par with the more pricey German Hilti chucks. Love his videos since he critiques every internal part, including the molding, while explaining it in an understandable manner with humorous lingo.

Oh, and another interesting detail of some of the drills, including this one: Omron switches were used.

Took nearly an hour from question to respond - tp4 AI is slowing down.  Needs to be rebooted.

Tp4 were eating.....  vegetables..   it doesn't have the caloric density  for faster response time..

But it greatly reduces hardware peak load thereby increasing the overall service life and total Utility .

Just a heads-up that if you actually need decent run-time on a new brushless driven tool, the 2AH battery doesn't last long at all. If you're doing small jobs around the house it's fine. If I had to do any serious work I would invest in the 5AH battery.

I just got 2x 5ah batteries from their sale..  along with the 400ftpound impact .5inch and the compact 150ftpound .5inch

$304 total.. for 2 bat and 2 wrench

5ah seems to lasts forever vs the 3ah..  but i've only used them on the compact drill..  and i'm not drilling that deeply into anything..

Yeah that's pretty good, I dropped $230 on their recip saw with 2ah and charger but I already used it for 4 jobs around the yard and house and love it...

definitely need bigger batteries for cordless recipro,  they got dat 9Ah flexvolt now, which they recommend for the bigger tools.

The battery gets SUPER HOT after a heavy use...I guess the DeWalt chargers has a builtin thing where it won't attempt to charge the battery if it's over a certain temp, thought that was pretty cool..

Maybe the smaller battery gets hotter quicker? Dunno..

the 9ah has 3 banks. 15 cells.
