I guess this week 5 years ago was the last time I had sex? Then 16 years before that. So twice in 21 years.
Quote from: John LaJoie
Last time I had sex was in 2003, and I'm ashamed to admit, but it wasn't free

Oh I will never ever be that low and desperate. It's not a top priority for me, I just want to be wanted so paying a 'pro' defeats the entire point of sex, which is to have someone actually want to be with you. And given my limited experience, if I'm not into the person I pretty much lose all interest in them and the activity immediately.

Under normal circumstances , yea, that's how you'd write the book.

The problem is, we're in the last 30 years of mankind on this earth,  yourself in the last 5-10 years of your youth.

You might as well swing, cuz it's not going to matter. Whatever long term plans you have, the probability is exceptionally low that they'll pan out, given the state of the ecosystem.

See, this is one of the main issues I run into whenever I open up and tell someone about my love life. They simply are unable to wrap their mind around someone not actively pursuing, caring, or enjoying the physical aspect of sex. I've had people question me for the better part of an hour and walk away still thinking I'm lying to them or trying to cope. It is crazy.
Try living in a World that is way too horny and constantly pushes the concept that sex is this amazing and necessary thing you need to have.
The only thing I regret is it taking so many years to realize I'm not the broken one and to stop beating myself up over it.

But all humans want to be loved. That is universal.

I think we have more than 30 years though. Society will fall apart before the World dies from us abusing it.

(...)Whereas back then I wrote about the tyranny of the majority, today I'd combine that with the tyranny of the minorities. These days, you have to be careful of both. They both want to control you. The first group, by making you do the same thing over and over again. The second group is indicated by the letters I get from the Vassar girls who want me to put more women's lib in The Martian Chronicles, or from blacks who want more black people in Dandelion Wine.
I say to both bunches, Whether you're a majority or minority, bug off! To hell with anybody who wants to tell me what to write. These are the reasons that I never had a "one night stand" (do people say that any more?) because it is the connection that is all-important.

The tragedy is that there are approximately the same number of males and females seeking companionship - but there is no simple procedure to bring them together.

addendum - it seems that far too many people think that they need somebody "better" than they are, especially in the looks department

I had a good friend (now departed) who was perpetually frustrated, but he was extremely intelligent and, I think, he totally intimidated almost everyone around him.

"Politicians have been proving Carlin right for decades. The GOP and the second Trump Administration seem bent on doing what they’ve always done, sometimes even turning the American Dream into the American Nightmare. Taxes are a major contributor, especially the billions upon billions that the rich and corporations don’t pay. Trump and his fellow Republicans are committed to keeping it that way — and, if their slim Congressional majorities can stick together, to do even more for those who need it the least. As one small example, the overall corporate tax rate could drop to 20%; domestic manufacturers could do even better, ending up with an effective corporate rate of 15%. The federal tax code is famous (and infamous) for its huge handouts to those with the highest incomes, the most egregious being the cap on Social Security taxes."

The entire purpose of mate selection is to Bargain for "perceptually" superior genetic outcomes, of course you choose +1 looks if possible.

The problem is, humanity killed their way to the top, and now the only thing left to kill is themselves, and they're doing a great job still. The selection process is still predicated on Who's the Best Killer.  The Best killer will have more stuff, more weapons, a bigger hut.  The average Females are genetically wired to seek out this behavior because it's worked really well for the last 100 thousand years.   But, at this point in time, it is directly responsible for the collapsing ecosystem.

It also doesn't help that Human-females are probably the most vicious / violent / vindictive / psychotic animals on the planet. Tp4 witnessing women in power @ werk, they are far far worse then men. It's beneath the surface. Men on average just want to bugger off and go whoring at every opportunity. It is actually Women who take Empires extremely seriously, they have an unhealthy obsession with domination.

The feminist movement, what it really is, is IMPERIALISM, with a female figurehead.  There's absolutely no difference in the general hierarchical arrangement of feminist organizations.

The way we frame and perceive PROGRESS, is today entirely delusional and incompatible with a dying world.

Shape up humans, shape up, do better.

EAT VEGGIES, you got 1 last shot at this, do it or we all die..

People with these bull**** success stories that you've heard 100x that go, "I was totally broke, living paycheck to paycheck, living in my car and saving every penny I could. Now I'm a millionaire who owns their own business."

Absolute horse****. Those stories simply do not add up. If you are so broke you are living out of your car and paycheck to paycheck, how the **** are you saving anything? How did you happen to accumulate $100s of thousands to start a business when you couldn't even afford food or living?

These stories are supposed to motivate you, make you believe you can achieve anything and climb out of poverty. But if you think about them for even a second, the facts don't make sense. Obvious lies. What they never mention is the extremely lucky once-in-a-lifetime windfall from an inheritance or gambling, that gave them the funds to actually pull themselves out of their situation. They act like it was all bootstraps. NONE of it was bootstraps you goddamn liars! All you did was hold on to nothing until luck kicked in for you.

They happen, far and few in between.  You see it mostly with drug dealers who also pimps.

Must emphasize, the pimp section, drugs alone is not enough, the pimping builds out the user network.

Based on Tp4's studies of known acquaintances, in general, no one wants to be friends with the drug dealer, except drug addicts, who are largely social dead ends. PIMPing, extends and utilizes those dead ends. Just about every male wants to be friends with at least a few Pimps.

No other business can start super low and have traction without modest funding. Ironically, restaurants are a far more unstable business compared to drugs/pimping.

The very successful ones, move on into nightclubs. Then they hand off the drugs to the small time runners and just take a cut. This preserves deniability as the club owner.

The pimping part, they usually keep close, it's just handy is what Tp4 was told.

It's not a super easy job, high eq requirement, modest intelligence, absolutely 0 morals/conscientiousness.

Not a common archetype.   The luck part comes in, you don't get murdered while building the initial stash in a drug feud, it's very rough due to the high crime locations where you start out.

Very important, you can't start out as an addict. You'll almost never make it, you can only become a drug addict much later in the career.

What they never mention is the extremely lucky once-in-a-lifetime windfall from an inheritance or gambling, that gave them the funds to actually pull themselves out of their situation.
This was the promise of crowdfunding.
Unfortunately crowdfunding has twice as many pitfalls as starting a business the normal way.

And then you have investors... Whatever you think you know from "Sharktank" just know it's actually way, way worse.

When you download a movie that turns out to just be an Amazon or Netflix webrip, and they don't even bother removing the streaming service splash logo from the beginning of the movie.
I don't always expect a full-on reencode, upscaling, and reformat of the movie(although that is always appreciated,) but at least make a minimal effort.

The cost/benefit ratio is REALLY skewed at the high end because cost is no object.
You pay more and more for less and less because you're nearing the limits of what is even possible.

I will say this, windows 11 allows you to hide the task bar completely without the line.

It only took them 30 years.

You can tell this thing is spying on every action you take. The surveillance is injected into EVERYTHING.

Windows 11 has widgets' click-area outside the extents of their visual area. That a window's resize-bar start several pixels outside a window annoys me.

Has been since Win10 beta and was injected into Win7 and 8 not long after Win10 release.

It actually tracks less now than it was during beta and initial release, they removed the keylogger when France forced them to reveal exactly what they tracked. Though they've since added more local network tracking (including passwords) and now you have Recall.

BTW, they've disabled registry backup and system restore without telling you, both were done for "space reasons" (questionable at best). It's highly recommended that you re-enable one or both of those features or you will have to do a re-install if you ever have a problem. As always, good job, MS. Youtube video on how to do it.

Cygni, it's the Shmup which requires dat' 4090 for 4K @ only 60fps..

Game caught alot of flak in reviews for being unintuitive.  It's definitely hard, japanese'ee.  The designer really thought about making the pickups meaningful and they gave people massive levels (by Shmups standards). Highly decorated/ artistically triumphant 3D background art. Unreal Engine.  Difficult to master.

Reduce the joystick sensitivity in the game settings for easier ship control. Make sure you have a good controller.

Has the same replay value kinda like the ol' Raptor,  but the mechanics are much more involved this time around. Recommend playing on Easy to upgrade the ship a bit first.

This wasn't made for "casuals." It's medium challenging, does not require the memorization at the level of Ikaruga. The game focuses on its shield/weapons mechanics which has a live distribution split.

7800xt and up can play at 2560x1440 @ 60fps.

Graphics in the Nightreign trailer looks like garbage. If they thought it's ok to throw together a trailer like that, they're getting Sloppy.

****ing ebay. The item is sold, but I'll get the money only in a month.
Their society breaks down into subsections of minorities who then, in effect, burn books by banning them. All this political correctness that's rampant on campuses is b.s.

They have changed the rules many times over the years. Until about 2010 you had a Paypal account that was directly associated with your ebay account and that was extremely convenient for buyers and sellers alike. But I suppose that made it too easy to hide and launder money.

If you are a new seller, they are very suspicious at first, and unless your account is "registered" or "verified" of "approved" or some such, it will be a slow process. After "they" become "comfortable" with you, it goes much more smoothly.
“The reason they call it the American Dream is because you have to be asleep to believe it.” - George Carlin
