get out of here stalker

more serious: maybe Greens since they're not as bright sounding as Blues and (supposedly) louder than Whites. And I'm sure there's some pretty robust-sounding ALPS (clones) out there.

Replace all your springs with pen springs, may not sounds the manliest...but they will feel the manliest.

The manliest might be a board full of Super Blacks (150 cN activation)

hop to it Ducky! (in other news, there will be full-board Dark Greys coming out soon!)

Granted, but pen strings never made it into production switches!

We've evolved to just "manliest switches" because really, what's louder than a buckling spring? An clicky Cherry switch?

Manliest in the sense that you can point to your keyboard when asked "do you even lift?"

Pretty sure REAL MEN do NOT play around with keyboards or send emails....

Real men are all out banging chix and smoking and drinking...

So unless you find a keyswitch that makes the ooo-s and ahhh-s that a women makes while wet, and at the end of the keystroke, the sound of a tree falling over coupled with murderous sounds of a chainsaw.... NO switch is manly..

Dedicating your existence to satisfying women is not manly at all.

Dedicating your existence to making the loudest noise is amiable.

clearly you are so detached from manliness that you saw my statement from a vagina's perspective.

Men out getting p00n to please themselves.. that was my perspective..

Manliest in the sense that you can point to your keyboard when asked "do you even lift?"

Having experienced MX Greens (and since BS are ruled out) -- I would go with the Greens. They make a satisfying chunka-chunka ("gonna lay down some sheetrock") sort of sound. I can only imagine that Blues make a *tink*tink* ("Those shoes look FAB-YUH-LOUS!") sound, which is rather feminine. BS don't even enter into the discussion, because they're secure enough in their masculinity.

Anything Chuck Norris touches.

It is understood Chuck Norris will never use a keycap name Cherry. For that manner Chuck Norris is beyond keycaps and touch typing for that manner. He thinks and it appears on screen.

I would have to hear the definition of this term, in relation to sound, before I named a switch, however:

As a 60-year-old husband and father, over 6' and 100 kilogram current active Tae Kwon Do black belt, I can wear a pink shirt and nobody will question my manhood for a nanosecond.

My keyboard of choice, with the sound and feel I consider most pleasing and appropriate, is a flossed, padded Model F. The perfect combination of all ergonomic factors, in my opinion. Its 8-1/4 pound (3.75 kg) weight is part of its character, along with its 195 square inch (a whopping 1/8 of a square meter!) footprint.

All Cherry switches sound like plastic to me, with blues and greens feeling best but sounding worst.

Alps are similar but better in sound, and may or may not feel great.

Pretty much everything else pretty much sounds like nothing.

From the US Constitution, Article 1, Section 8 :

The   Congress   shall have Power
To declare War,  grant Letters of Marque and Reprisal, and make Rules concerning Captures on Land and Water;
To provide for calling forth the Militia  to execute the Laws of the Union, suppress Insurrections and repel Invasions;

Yes, any of the "lasers". "space rim shot" is not bad, either. Sounds attached!

Can't you just figure out what switches they use on Gurren Lagann?  Isn't that the default source of manliness?

You are not; the White Complicated was marketed as the "Strongman" due to it's 75cN(+-25cN) activation force.
However, the SMK is probably the absolute toughest sounding switch there is. It clicks with a deep authority, on activation and on return. However, listening to me type on just about anything has been described as the manliest thing ever. Just because it tends to resemble a minigun. Even if they aren't clicky switches. (Or especially because they aren't clicky. MX Blacks with shoddy ABS caps, looking at YOU.)

They don't use switches they use drills  :P

Also to my understanding that the manliest switch that you can still buy and is not buckling spring would be the Clicky ALPS from Matias.

It's a pity that IBM doesn't manufacture beam spring keyboards for the IBM PC. Such a keyboard would have been the appropriate answer to this question.
