more serious: maybe Greens since they're not as bright sounding as Blues and (supposedly) louder than Whites. And I'm sure there's some pretty robust-sounding ALPS (clones) out there.

Having experienced MX Greens (and since BS are ruled out) -- I would go with the Greens. They make a satisfying chunka-chunka ("gonna lay down some sheetrock") sort of sound. I can only imagine that Blues make a *tink*tink* ("Those shoes look FAB-YUH-LOUS!") sound, which is rather feminine. BS don't even enter into the discussion, because they're secure enough in their masculinity.

I would have to hear the definition of this term, in relation to sound, before I named a switch, however:

As a 60-year-old husband and father, over 6' and 100 kilogram current active Tae Kwon Do black belt, I can wear a pink shirt and nobody will question my manhood for a nanosecond.

My keyboard of choice, with the sound and feel I consider most pleasing and appropriate, is a flossed, padded Model F. The perfect combination of all ergonomic factors, in my opinion. Its 8-1/4 pound (3.75 kg) weight is part of its character, along with its 195 square inch (a whopping 1/8 of a square meter!) footprint.

All Cherry switches sound like plastic to me, with blues and greens feeling best but sounding worst.

Alps are similar but better in sound, and may or may not feel great.

Pretty much everything else pretty much sounds like nothing.

You are not; the White Complicated was marketed as the "Strongman" due to it's 75cN(+-25cN) activation force.
However, the SMK is probably the absolute toughest sounding switch there is. It clicks with a deep authority, on activation and on return. However, listening to me type on just about anything has been described as the manliest thing ever. Just because it tends to resemble a minigun. Even if they aren't clicky switches. (Or especially because they aren't clicky. MX Blacks with shoddy ABS caps, looking at YOU.)

Also to my understanding that the manliest switch that you can still buy and is not buckling spring would be the Clicky ALPS from Matias.

It's a pity that IBM doesn't manufacture beam spring keyboards for the IBM PC. Such a keyboard would have been the appropriate answer to this question.
