I clone the old ssd to the new larger ssd and it won't boot....two different PC's (dell laptops, one windows 10 the other 7 but probably upgrading once I get it to boot) even using different cloning methods neither one boot.

Tried all the tips and tricks I could find using Google.

Finally after spending the last couple days messing with this I broke down and spent almost as much on some software to do it for me as I paid for the SSD's, it's currently migrating, hopefully it works.

After cloning, it just won't boot. Try repairing with macrium, then manually with command line and boot disk things like MBR and BCD and keep getting different errors and/or commands throw errors in the process, like trying to rebuild BCD and it says can't find the drive etc.

dd & ddrescue can be helpful too.

Boot from a live USB like UBCD and it will have all of the tools you need. If that doesn't do it then...

I tried clonezilla after macrium didn't work, that was on the second system and it wouldn't even try to boot.

Ok, so ur cloning the drive... Then booting from it right?

Have you tried,  Imaging the drive..   REMOVE IT, replace that slot with an EMPTY SSD,  Boot from the Macrium bootable flash drive..

Restore from the image file..

It's been a while since I've done it, but...

You used to have to plug the new "target" drive into the "source" system to make sure the drivers were installed (the "target" drive was recognized by the OS that you are "cloning") before starting the cloning process. Otherwise, you would run the risk of the "target" drive not being recognized after completion.

Tried restoring a macrium image and a Windows backup image those wouldn't work either.

Yes cloning from CD/USB bootable media then removing original drive.

The drive seems to be automatically recognized at least in Windows 10.

Oh, Win10. Win10 bootloader could be a problem and UEFI Secure Boot could be causing issues as well. Set your BIOS bootloader to "legacy" or turn off Secure Boot and see if that works.

Feeling down right now...

I feel like I need a hug.  :(

"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

This is literally the only reason I clean the house. I get too comfy with all my stuff around me in convenient places and it's not until I am meant to have someone round...

Yea clutter has never bothered me. I like organized chaos. But then my mom always has something to say about it... so I'd rather just clean up.

But this company is someone I'm actually trying to impress soo.. definitely clean

I have company coming over tomorrow and I need to clean my house. But I'm lazy.

This is literally the only reason I clean the house. I get too comfy with all my stuff around me in convenient places and it's not until I am meant to have someone round...

I only clean whenever I get new stuff.

It has been a month since I got something new.

Help me :(

What kind of new? Like new furniture?

Anything. Lately it's my records. I'll store them neatly then look at the mess around it and see that I need to pick up. For a couple weeks there my **** was spotless. But I had to take a break from buying **** to pay some stuff off and it's now a mess :(
No, he’s not around. How that sound to ya? Jot it down.

haha that's a strange routine to get in to. I would have no problem though, because I have a problem buying new things...  :/

And they know it.

I had a CC that had a limit of 1.5k. I was 200 away from paying it off and closing the account. Literally the next day I get a credit bump of 2k. Guess what CC I'm currently paying off now? OnO

Good luck, those 60 year old ladies are the worst to impress. What dog are you looking to adopt?
