ohh your a real pro

I don't mean to sound like a know it all mate, just offering a couple of alternatives.

but your not actually helping becasue i mostly use itunes to manage and play music to and from my iphone lol

so he's not helping because you want a magical fix to make Itunes not suck because you refuse to change your methods?  I don't really understand.

He's not helping because he can't. I have an iphone I can't simply refuse to use it or jump ship mid contract, and even if I did what Android phone is there with over 100gb of storage?
There isn't a fix, itunes is proper ****ing ****, it bothers me, hence posting about it in this thread. If i could fix it, or use another program to sync with my iphone and itunes so I didn't actually have to use it, I would...

:(

You know my thoughts on your board.

Also tbf it's listed as "with APL set", not "with clacks". Though that has little influence on how people might vote. Also, it was masterfully restored (just not by myself, but by fohat), so it is an incredibly solid and genuinely nice board.

No sad Hoff. Only happys.

The nomination actually reads:
Quote
Hoff's Model M with them orange legends :-X And those Clacks!
But that is irrelevant.  I was just frustrated with the community for their priorities, and I wasn't putting any of that blame on to you or your very nice board.  And I have slept since I posted that, and I no longer have any trace of that emotion left.  I'm just a grumpy bastard sometimes when I don't feel people are paying enough attention to me.  Sorry, it's a side effect left over from being an actor.

Anyway, what's done is done, and what was said was said.  Hug?

Wait, did I miss something?

Did somebody enter one of my restorations in a contest?

Note: I pretty much ignore most contests around here, but I may have an entry before too long.

Yep, the bolt-modded Model M you sold me was nominated for Keyboard of the Month.  :thumb:

And it's all good Blue, I understand where you're coming from. Don't fault you for that. I did definitely miss that part of the description though, my bad.  :))

I thought his post was to offer an alternative to using iTunes for *playing* music, while of course you'll still have to use it for syncing. But I dunno, I'm just an innocent bystander.  :P

what Android phone is there with over 100gb of storage?
Any phone in which you can put a 128gb microSD card.
(...)Whereas back then I wrote about the tyranny of the majority, today I'd combine that with the tyranny of the minorities. These days, you have to be careful of both. They both want to control you. The first group, by making you do the same thing over and over again. The second group is indicated by the letters I get from the Vassar girls who want me to put more women's lib in The Martian Chronicles, or from blacks who want more black people in Dandelion Wine.
I say to both bunches, Whether you're a majority or minority, bug off! To hell with anybody who wants to tell me what to write. Their society breaks down into subsections of minorities who then, in effect, burn books by banning them. All this political correctness that's rampant on campuses is b.s.

Hoff won't message me back with colors.  It's like he doesn't want me to love him.

I'm bothered by what makes a good keyboard.

Is it hand made parts completely restoring and customizing a keyboard? Nope.

Is it clacks? Yep.

Bull****.

/rant

It's just the way the nominations work. Some other very good boards with and without clacks/brobots have fallen short of the final stage.

And TBF, Yoe has made it in twice with a completely custom made board with no artisans, and won it once. If you look through the winners thread, you will see that completely custom builds have won three times already.

Yoe totally deserves to win.  I'm just salty because I feel like I wasn't given any recognition.  I may be an adult who has lots to be proud of, but deep down we are all whiny children who thinks the world revolves around his/herself.

But now I vented, and I'm over it.

It's okay, I lost to a Hammer case without caps because it had Zealios.  Talk about feeling salty about losing.

You say that like the process of creating Zealios was easy and didn't take lots of hard work, time, and money

**** you Australia.

This is what a world class team looks like, England never had a chance of making it out of the group lol and yeah a Nokia/Windows Phone thing is what I'm seriously looking at to replace my iPhone.

@hoff
yeah but I don't see the point in having two music libraries set up, one to play and one to manage music because I'd have to keep going back and forth as I get new music pretty often, I have tried in the past using two programs but iTunes manages to **** up some how and it just makes life more difficult...

I really wasn't that big on the OS personally. Also, no ****ing apps at all because no one owns windows phones and I seriously doubt enough people will buy them in the near future to make it worthwhile for developers to start making them

I keep hearing that, but tbh there are only a handful of apps I actually use, the rest are just one time "oh thats cool" and I'm done... idk... every Android device looks like a bit of a nightmare as they get worse and worse, least the iPhone is meh from the start of its life for about 2-3 years until its slow and properly ****...

also the nokia's look so nice

Eh, I haven't really seen a huge dropoff in performance in the life of any of my phones so far. The Fascinate kinda dropped off a cliff at the end but it took a while. And I mean if you really only stick to the bare essential apps I guess you'll be OK, but I was always surprised by what apps weren't on there (even stuff from huge companies). But maybe it's gotten better, I got rid of my nokia early this year.

I like my Nokia a lot. There are really only a couple of apps I notice that aren't there, and they aren't essential. Although some of the apps it does have are awful, like Facebook and tumblr and linkedin are really quite awful. The phone is gorgeous though, and the camera is great. I just use Spotify for my music anyway... Expandable storage and the onedrive link makes it even better. That and no proprietary cables, wireless charging and Bluetooth pairing via NFC.

But yeah, I knew we would lose. I'm pretty surprised that England were the favourites. Even 3-10 down they were evens.

baldgye, the point of my post was that you can manage and play music with one program and then automatically propagate your changes to iTunes when you sync. That's how it worked when I had an iPhone anyway.

Yeah, touchwiz has never been a huge crowd-pleaser. I also don't really like that they dropped the removable back (and with that removable batteries and microSD card slot).

The new Nexus 6P comes in 128GB as well.

The new Moto X Pure has expanable memory, I believe up to 128GB.

If you are thinking of switching to android, I'd recommend those two phones. They are stock android and will offer the best user experience, IMO.

Yeah, I would rather pay the extra for Apple Pay, the App Store and an OS that I'm used to than go over to Android and a curved screen gimmick.

Yeah we do, at a few big chains, but it's not that widespread. But if Apple can't make something like Apple Pay work world wide, nobody can.

I think the concept is great. I like just being able to get your phone out and put it on the reader, rather than getting your wallet out, then your cards out. I usually have my phone out if im waiting in line or whatever. Although I'm not sure if the caps exist like with contactless payment.

edit: Yeah, **** it, I'm going to get an iPhone again.

to be fair the only thing I can think I would use it for would be buying junk food when I'm super trashed

What's the cap in the U.K.? In aus it's $100 for contactless payments

Edit: iPhone keyboard sucks

It's just gone up to £30. But I'm not sure if there is a limit on Apple Pay. I can't seem to find any figure anywhere.

Wikipedia says it suffers from the same limitations as normal contactless payments. And only the US and the UK have got Apple Pay right now.

Getting sick and seeing ALL of your medicine is out of date....SO GREAT.

Guess it just shows how often I get sick! Almost never...had cough drops starting to melt that were from 4/2015. Ibuprofen from 1/2015. NyQuil from 12/2014. Sore Throat spray expired a couple of months ago. I took most of this once before buying new stuff. Hope I don't die :(

If you need a sore throat remedy, I did this as soon as I got home and it works fairly well.

It's raining. Which means the air is amazing out here. I had to ask myself why it didn't feel anywhere nearly as good inside....this starts an epsiode of AFTER MIDNIGHT CLEANING INVESTIGATION. Found some significant contributing factors to my sickliness.

Warning: if you're squeemish with dirt/mold, don't click the more tag.

More
Had a look at my air filter...I forgot to change it last month. So this happened.

Then I noticed something odd in my bathroom vent.

I took it out and it was just some old duct tape.

.....oh.

Also tightened my shower faucet. Hopefully THAT issue is fixed.  >:D

It's slower than getting out your wallet because you need to wait for your phone to wake up and then properly scan your finger, I've still got to phone Natwest to get my phone and card synced too...

I was not feeling well yesterday afternoon and needed a quiet lie down.  About 7pm.

Then the ****head over the road starts up his mower.  His mower seems to fart into life, runs for about 5 to 6 seconds, the almost coughs to a stop.  Farts back into life and repeats.

He has only the nature strip and about a 1m wide strip of grass in front of his house, and his mower was farting and coughing for at least 20 minutes.
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

duck fat doesn't taste as good as I thought it would.  cooked it with some eggs and it was ehhhh OK.  I think it might be better used by frying potatoes.

also ghee smells like puke.  literally.  I opened the jar and I'm like "this smells familiar"  yeah ...

Roast potatoes cooked in duck fat is the ONLY way to compliment a good roast.

I feel like Steve Jobs autistic level of detail over his products is something that iOS what ever it is now and iTunes is really missing. Both the new iOS and the new iTunes are ****ing horrible to use and it seems every upgrade improves one thing, and then ruines two other. Multi-tasking is now worse, auto correct is now worse, the control draw thing that controls your music is worse, but performance and search are better.

Windows iTunes was **** under Jobs too.  Jobs was just an ego-maniacal douche who knew how to create a cult following.
